  • This is 3th version of my UltraLight Magnetic Loop Antenna.
    In this version is used folded construction of the skeleton and is used tighter tuning box. This antenna is also better for more experimenting with different diameters of the main and small loop.
    SWR is on all 6 bands 1:1.

    Aloha Paul, for your connection to the small loop onto the PVC pole, I was thinking of making it much easier by using a set of Anderson Power Pole connectors so that no screws or screw drivers would be needed.
    Instead of using a fishing tripod, I would use a fishing sand spike that we set our fishing poles in here in Hawaii. You can either push the spike into the ground or hammer it into the ground pretty easy with the heel of your shoe or sandals since we never wear shoes here in Hawaii, lol. I have the 20 watt Xiegu G90 that can TunA Fish, lol. I believe in KISS-Keep It Simple Stupid, lol. 73 and Aloha Paul, great videos!

      Aloha again, Paul. You seem more proud of the box instead of all the hard work you put into the antenna, lol. So in taking your lead, I want I to put in my order for two boxes. I don’t need the antennas, just those super cool boxes, lol. Maybe we can work out a great deal and I can sell those boxes on my weekly nationwide radio show! 😂🤣😂🤣😂
      I Love it!!!

    Interesting and nicely done
    Suggestion: rotate the inner part of the terminal block 90 degrees and use thumb screws for connect/disconnect the coaxial. No tools required now.

    Nice antenna, Paul. Congratulations ! May I ask you: which type of coaxial did you use ? Did you make a short circuit between the ground and the coaxial core in the box ? Thank you. 73's.

      Hello Stephane. No, I dont use the shield as direct radiator. Energy from center core is inducted also on the shield because in the coax is self capacity about 140pF ( i am not sure how many exactly)
      I use now the Belden H1000 coax.cable.

    Paul, I really like your videos. I'm been a ham for 35 years and love QRP. Your magnetic loop antenna videos are excellent and right in line with QRP work. Just wanted to know if you have a magnetic loop design for 7.000 MHz to 30 MHz. Thanks KJ4YM, Mark.

      Hi Mark, thank you very much! Actually I don't have design for 40m because of the size it should have on this band. I tryed double turns but antenna was heavy and not stable in the hand. This is why I don't have it yet. 😉 73

    What is the value of the capacitor in the tuning box please?

    • @OM0ET
      @OM0ET  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's the 380+320pF (700pF) but this two segments are connected to split stator style so total capacity may be about 350pF.
