I am personally from Uganda. We had something similar to ECOWAS called the east African community EAC just after independence in the 60s which fell apart when the leaders of Uganda (Amin), Kenya (Kenyatta) and Tanzania (Nyerere) developed some misunderstandings. The 3 countries went their separate ways until much later when they came together again and expanded the community to include Rwanda, Burundi, south Sudan, DRC. In other words, countries are free to join and leave these groupings depending on circumstances. So who are ECOWAS to force AES to return if they have chosen to leave? Puppets

A Nigeria’s form of democracy without the freedom of Speech. A democracy where if a citizen voices out a grievance against the government, it’s termed a HATE Speech; for which the individual is subjected to severe punishment. Let’s not be hypocritical.

Please take notice. Senegalese will soon align with the AES. They are the next to abandon ecowas. They are making another mistake by sending Senegalese president. They make it easier for him to see the good about joining the AES. If ecowas is serious about attracting back the tri-state of the Sahel region, they must send an elderly statesman with a clear list of good reasons that are littered with benefits as to why the tri-state should come back ecowas.
