I am doing this with hemp in northeast Florida. It is great for drying out the poo. I have a very open air coop with lots of 1/2 inch hardware cloth. I began in April 2024. So far so good. I constantly fight the urge to toss bedding and start over.
How soon can you add the deep litter method manure to the garden?

One of my turkins has just started laying eggs. What should I do with them to make them lay more, and they're laying on dry grass clippings.
Can mowed grass be used as bedding?
I havenât seen it used, but I donât see why not? The only is that when the grass is still green it will be a nitrogen source and you wouldnât have enough carbon. If it was me, I would let it completely die off and dry out before putting it in!
