I've seen many, many of these vans, and this one is so clean, well made, stylish and not messy or cluttered, and it's the prettiest I've seen. This couple is also has a very good clothing taste and their style is just good.
OMG I graduated college in 1989 and bought that VW new. I traveled for 9 mo. as a young man before I found a job in the Spring of 1990. That design is just awesome...mine had an after market diesel heater and was cold in the winter...but awesome fun...cheers from Boston. Great life advise from these two as well.
but don't forget that at the end they did say "Every little set back was a blessing in disguise"......maybe they they discovered the water tank full of fuel after they ran out of fuel out in the scrub.......(of course though, had the fuel been put into the fuel tank, then they would of never ran out of fuel......ahh, the circle is not always smooth but it always continues)
I own a 1984 VWT25, as we call it over here in the UK. I absolutely adore it - I mean, it's like the biggest love in my life. I like sitting in it, parked outside my house, and making a cup of coffee - and not going anywhere. it's my safe place, actually, to gather my thoughts and think about life. She's called Myrtle!

I travelled in a hired campervan in 2018 across Victoria, South Australia, Northern Territory and WA, searching long and hard for a Will & Bear hat for the roadtrip, which I finally found in my final few weeks in the Esperance. Fast forward and these guys really inspired to me buy and convert my own van and live on the road. I'm still in the renovation stage, but these guys were definitely my inspiration. Thanks for the cool hat, and thanks for the inspo. From a POME missing his Aussie adventures.
I LOVE how their business ethos fits in with van life and respecting nature. Ohhhh, I don't think she GETS how important this van build was to him. I think it hurts him when she laughs about how they would not have done it had they known how long it would take. Ouch! They seem like a sweet couple though.

Good job guys!! We done up an old girl too (Gertrude!) A LOT of work also. We travel from here in malta to the UK & back again every summer & it's used as a change of scenery also. I'm all about security though; not putting myself in harms way is my top priority...i don't want a lot of if only's. So just stay safe.
I hope you found whatever dropped behind the drawer under your bed -- I saw something drop back there when uou pulled the drawer open, LOL!!! Happy travels!
I love exploring and going for an adventure, so I told my parents when I grew up I want a van that is like a home, so that if I want to go somewhere I don’t need to checkout some hotels because I’m already at my home lmao.

This is small question to the video but how do you guys wash dishes on the road, especially when you bring the van camping and your not near a water supply?
vans often don't have bathrooms as they take up a lot of space and people will often use public ones and i've never seen a laundry in a van as you can go to the laundromat for a couple bucks

Like my old Mitsubishi L300. Same colour and stripes but smaller than the VW.. Dont know how you live there permanently. One weekend was enough for me.
what no shower no toilet don't think i'd like that much but this is the very definition of downsizing in stuff and living space as well but if your spending more time outside then i guess it's ok if that's what you like it seems to work for this couple good job

Simple, zen, exquisitely designed. I love the 1970s - they need one bright orange bowl or item. The 70s was all about brown and orange.
