Back when I was growing up in the 60s and 70s, the guy across the road had a turntable in his garage. It was a large garage which was unheard of back then. He was an optician and had built the house himself, so the turntable has been around for years. It was also used in train yards to turn engines around.
Back in the 1980s when I got married. I had trip to Llandudno in North Wales. We stayed in what would be called a boutique hotel, nowadays, but it was a townhouse converted into themed rooms. The parking was at a nearby hotel, the Empire, I think. It had the double decker solution back then. It was pretty scary putting your expensive car on what appeared relatively flimsy. These ideas have been around for a long time, and they’re great solutions.

A "dual lift" system as public parking isn't such a good idea. What if the person who owns the vehicle on top wants to leave before the one who owns the one underneath? That could get frustrating. However, if you use a lift that lifts both vehicles and hides one underground, as long as the one on top is correctly in the space it can just be lifted out of the way. (Or you can use the one at 8:42.) Of course, so few people know how (and care) to park correctly...
It's for personal garages or car sales places. Not for public parking
It doesn’t work like that. I’ve used one of these double decker spaces back in the late 1980s. It makes no odds who leaves first because the upper deck slides over and down the lower deck at about a 20 degree angle.
I should say in a Hotel in North Wales. It was commercial obviously.

The second to last one with the vertical car storage in China is not a new idea. There was a vertical car elevator storage back in the ‘30s in the Chicago business district. It held 48 cars, built by the Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company.
The thought is a lot, but the money is little.

The only problem with some of these is that if you have a power cut you’re not going to be able to get your car out unless it has a manual override.

All these garages are great for people who are proficient in parking. Unlike some people like me who are crap at parking. lol Plus if the electrics are cut off, how you gonna get the car out. The turntable is a great idea but you have to have enough space for the car to be able to fit side on, unlike most houses who have a narrow driveway. I think I'll stick with my carport.

Good point, I'd assume though that anyone with enough money to buy one of these has a nice generator. But yeah what if the generator goes out and you need to evacuate. That would not be good. LOL

NZ doesn’t go for the big flashy cars, this is an average car in what looks like an area that probably has limited off street parking.
This is in an old part of Auckland with narrow streets so not much off street parking. And this type of car is pretty average for city driving.

All these solutions are too much hassle for me...getting down the car then pressing the buttons and waiting for atleast a minute to open those parking doors then again getting inside the car driving it to those limited space then again get off the car then again press the button to close those parking doors...i just wanna drive in and park free of buttons.

You can do a lot more designs when you go EV, don't have to worry about carbon monoxide. The Gazebox should offer one with solar panels and a battery so you can charge an EV in it.
