Jared Biggers Wasn't that laugh just as bad in Japanese? Tidus' Laugh (Japanese) I haven't played the game yet, but I've heard that in the context of the original scene that laugh is supposed to be awful. People just take it out of context as an excuse to attack dubbing.
I don't see why people are saying this game isn't worth the price, it's had very high markings in many different ways. You get a huge amount of characters to choose from compared to most other FF titles and on top of that they're all very uniquely styled in terms of combat style. It was never even released in America officially and the graphics were completely overhauled. I see people complaining it it being apparent that it was a PSP game... duh... The game's engine is based on a modified version for one of the best titles on the PSP, Crisis Core. I also love how people complain about how this game isn't real enough looking and then they complain about how XV looks too real, what a bunch of hypocrites. If you don't like it, I guess you don't have to buy it, but you'll be missing out on a very good game, even to those of you who played the Japanese version and say it wasn't a good game.
Seriously this game is sooooo good. I played it when it was originally on PSP and was blown away. The combat is really fun and actually quite difficult. The story is kind of slow but really picks up in the last chapter into something amazing. It has a lot of twists and is quite emotional, plus it offers a lot of new game plus content. I may get this HD remake because the game is awesome, but mostly because of that FFXV demo.
Just to warn you guys, the beginning is slow, it will take a few hours to start getting into the story more. The gameplay is different, you'll have to switch between characters to strategize. Overall, it's definitely worth it, it's a great game. Don't ditch it too early in the game.
4 years later, this advice still holds true. Didn't like it in the beginning. Left it for a few months, came back and finished it last night. Absolutely loved it.
These were my exact thoughts, the exposition could’ve been done better but overall the game gets better and better. As far as newer FF games go, which usually range from mediocre to bad, type 0 is a saving grace among them. Wish more people knew about it

BGM start at 2:18 If you beat the game, watch the ending and the staff roll, then every time you hear that BGM, you will want to cry. This may not apply to everyone, but it's been almost three years to me, and I still do so.

Chris M Yes because actual numbers don't fly in the face of that statement. While it's true in the West nobody really plays it anymore and its market is dead there, it was moderately successful for much of it's lifespan. It just didn't manage to beat DS. In Japan PSP games are still being made and PSP are still sold. They're less of a niche group than in the west.
Maybe I'm slowing out growing Final Fantasy at this point but I'm not terribly excited for this. I'm sure others are, but I'm holding my breath for XV. I just miss a group of interesting characters, loosely connected by fate, called together to embark on a journey of adventure, love and friendship in order to save the world.
Chris M The feeling of it all, that feeling died on FF, some time ago, imho. Since FFIX we've seen tons of crappy FF games, people are disappointed, it's to be expected. Try to remember FFVI FFVII and FFIV. Those were the best FF games, the feeling of traveling together with your companions in a magic journey where things will be lost and pain will be felt, but happiness awaits at the end, with that tint of bittersweetness from having to say goodbye to those companions that never left your side, even when fighting deitys or the kind. That's lost, nowadays it's Graphics+Decent Storyline+Lacking gameplay.
Don't get me wrong, I love that they keep doing games, I love that they change, I do even love many of those changes, and those that I do not I still accept and understand, I think that it's good that this series is developing itself more, I just love way more the storytelling, character introduction and character development (gameplay somewhat) of many of the not so new ones, like IX or VI
Regardless of how good it is, I'm not paying $60 for this. The graphics are smooth but it's very apparent that it was originally a psp game. Which was $40. So a port that's more expensive that the original game? Without the multiplayer? I'll buy it.... When it's $20

FFX/X-2 HD took WAY more work and that was 40 bucks for both games. If I already preordered XV, there's no point in playing the demo. My mind is made up and I'd rather not chop up the experience. I have enough games backlogged as it is. I'vet seen gameplay and it looks fun to me. Slight resemblances to the KH series which is understandable since Nomura is involved (not a bad thing either). Definitely has it's own mechanics though.

I understand this is a psp remaster, but birth by sleep HD looks way better than this game. And that was ported to PS3, how are the last gen consoles ports looking better than a current gen port, which is immensely more powerful hardware. I guess devs are being lazy. I heard the story for TYPE-0 was supposedly really good. Just kinda though it would be a Vita title not a PS4 title. But I'm not complaining, i can play it regardless.

Camp 1 : Old School players who demand mages and swordfighters in their games Camp 2: New School players who love Steampunk (FF7) or futuristic Final Fantasy Games (FF8, 13, 15) Camp 3: The next generation players who are tired of "Turn based combat" and "Active Time Based" combat. They favor the adventure game style of combat that is featured in Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy 15 I am personally from camps 2 and 3. The only thing I liked about FF12 other than it's story was it's "hunts" other than that I didn't care for the medieval style setting. I did enjoy FF10 and FF12. I just personally preferred the settings of FF7, FF13, and FF15. *to each their own I guess.*

Jeremy Murphy They've got a redone HD version of 6 on the iOS and Android stores and it's on sale for half off right now. I never beat it because when I finally picked it up the graphics (and lack of portability for such graphics) bothered me. Both those problems are gone. I'm playing freaking FF6 on my cell phone, and it's epic so far.
The dark and chilling aspects of FF are long gone.. now I feel as if I'm watching something that appeals to 10-year olds.. 13 and now this?? *smh* I took an oath after 3 disappointments of FF games to quit buying them.. And I broke it because I had the slightest bit of faith for it.n believing it would pick up the pace.. This renowned series has been on it's last leg for a while now and I suggest that they just put it down.. I'd rather it all come to a close then to see cringy dialogue and characters that obliviously run around like children.. Kelsey Curles While the AI and the dialogue might not be the best (the English dub is hilariously bad, I suggest switching to the Japanese dub), the story is top-notch.
I like the nod to feng shui. Black tortoise in the north. White tiger in the east. Red sparrow in the south and suppose to be a green dragon in the west, if memory serves me right. Although they changed it to an azure dragon.
I have played an finished this game a month ago and I'm sure that many FF fans will be disappointed on this because of the story I guess.... but the game play is extremely superb that is new to the entire FF franchise! Lets say its like Crisis core but its more action that being like a turn base thing.

Definitely doesn't matter if you haven't played other Final Fantasies. Type-0 entirely separate aside from small nods in terms of having the same types of spells and creatures at points. Great game, favorite FF tbh

I never beat it because when I finally picked it up the graphics (and lack of portability for such graphics) bothered me. Both those problems are gone. I'm playing freaking FF6 on my cell phone, and it's epic so far.
***** FF10 was one of the best games of all time. Absolutely incredible game. After that is when it started going downhill

The dark and chilling aspects of FF are long gone.. now I feel as if I'm watching something that appeals to 10-year olds.. 13 and now this?? *smh* I took an oath after 3 disappointments of FF games to quit buying them.. And I broke it because I had the slightest bit of faith for it.n believing it would pick up the pace.. This renowned series has been on it's last leg for a while now and I suggest that they just put it down.. I'd rather it all come to a close then to see cringy dialogue and characters that obliviously run around like children.. It's just really saddening to have a series that grabbed hold to your heart while growing up just turn into garbage.. Whatever it is.. this isn't Final Fantasy. I am so done with this series.

AjAirStyles I've tried to play it.. just can't bring myself to bear through the absurd dialogue.. the characters are also poorly fleshed out.. It's pretty half-assed. You'd have to be a noob to appreciate this backwash.. I'll stick to the classics that are actually worthy of the praise that have earned the right to be titled, "Final Fantasy". Keeping the faith embedded in XV.

Kelsey Curles While the AI and the dialogue might not be the best (the English dub is hilariously bad, I suggest switching to the Japanese dub), the story is top-notch.
Cool trailer. Will definitely have a PS4 by the spring. It does feel a bit weird to have one of my PS4 system sellers be a PSP game though.

I like the nod to feng shui. Black tortoise in the north. White tiger in the east. Red sparrow in the south and suppose to be a green dragon in the west, if memory serves me right. Although they changed it to an azure dragon.

I love the music.
I have played an finished this game a month ago and I'm sure that many FF fans will be disappointed on this because of the story I guess.... but the game play is extremely superb that is new to the entire FF franchise! Lets say its like Crisis core but its more action that being like a turn base thing.

this game came out years ago on the psp and i played it in japanese , the game was so good i knew sony would make it a ps3 game and never bring it to us on the psp. so i was right and its now being resold as a ps4 game. btw the game is amazing!
This game looks great, but did I hear Aaron Dismuke (Alphonse Elric in the original Fullmetal Alchemist and Hibiki in Fairy Tail) at the end. If I'm right this has just become ten times more awesome.

2 final fantasy games, Kingdom hearts 3, persona 5...I'm happy to know one great rpg is coming to ps4 but i was beyond excited to see quite a lot of them! I'm hoping the ps4 is gonna get a good amount of rpg's -fingers crossed!

Definitely doesn't matter if you haven't played other Final Fantasies. Type-0 entirely separate aside from small nods in terms of having the same types of spells and creatures at points. Great game, favorite FF tbh
