Dude, I just watched this video again. When you flew over you shoulder and then banked hard right to avoid the high lines…THAT WAS AWESOME!! And then that butter landing!! Your enthusiasm had me yelling at my tv LOL Anyway, good job man and thanks for the info on the fasteners. I’m buying them cause they look handy to have
really like when you take the time to show us and explain to us ! can you imagine how many plane you save us by doing this ! that's why I told you you were the best on youtube ! thanks Brian ! ✈✈✈💙
Mike - Thanks for saying this! I try hard to share this stuff, as I'm learning it, or figuring out what worked for us, but I get some push back both ways, so we have to try to walk a fine line of keeping things moving, and leaving people "in the dust"...so thanks!
First off big shout out to camera crew! Numero uno in the biz. Brian, I want thank you for your very candid explanations of these planes, I’ve learned how to fly better because of you. Im very lucky like you and am able to use the road out front of my house. Perks of living where cattle out number humans lol Also I’m VERY lucky to have an amazing phone company that has the best internet in the area, 100 up and 100 down consistently. Thank you both for working so hard for us fellow pilots. Happy Mother’s Day camera crew 😊
Put the nose gear steering on the open channel and control it with the knob so you can stop messing with the mechanical adjustment. That way you can fine tune it via the radio quickly without trimming the rudder too. Then mix the nose steering channel with the rudder and activate the mix with the gear down switch and you’re all set.
Thank you again for posting these rc jet videos in detail. Would the DSMX controller that came with the Habu STS work with this jet? And would the 4 lights on the controller show the battery life too? Also how many minutes did you get on the 7000mAh in this run? Sorry if I missed it in the video. And have you ever thought about taking this to a large park and getting people's reactions?
If you're using this plane, you need to get an NX6 or NX8, or if you're tight on cash, get a used DX8 or something like this. You need the control over the buttons. While you could technically bind a DXS to any plane that is DSMX, I wouldn't recommend it. Too much Expo and Dual Rates needed to make things work right.
Gday Brian how are you mate I just wanted to touch base and share with you. I've been flying every chance I get. I'm still flying my 520 I'm getting out of safe a lot now. As long as it's not windy I'm really happy with my progression... Thanks heaps for your influence. I've been practicing wheels up wheels down although I have a vtol which is handy for me cause of where I live however if I walk Dow to the road then I have my own runway. However again it does have a 20 ish degree slope so it can make landing a bit tricky. But it feels bloody good when you get it right. I was just outside having a wee fly I notice I have many out of control moments when I have the safe turned off.. It's amazing the noises that come out of me at these moments... Hats off to the xk 520. My one has many many flights under its canopy now, it's benn smashed and repaired countless times and it's still proven to be training me. I only hope it's training me in the correct manner.. OK cheers Brian. Gday camera crew
If you're flying the same MODE as you intend to fly with your next aircraft, you'll be learning even though a plane will fly a bit different, and easier in many ways. The VTOL capabilities of the 520 will allow you to keep from crashing, when you might otherwise be REPAIRING a true fixed wing craft ;) LOL Keep flying. Takes time to get more comfortable. You probably can't imagine now, but in a few short years, you'll be flying at or better than my skill level.
This might sound crazy but I started with rc simulators then bought a tiny rc Cessna and flew it like 10-15 times and stopped rc for a few months. Last week I bought a 70mm viper and it's really fun. My landings can be great but I have some bad ones as well. The nose broke off like twice but it's still running strong and love it
Chris is an AMAZING pilot (WAY better than me) - he and I talked about this F-16. Even though we're competitors on TH-cam, but he's a GREAT guy. Same with and Ryan and The Petrincic Bros too - They're all cool guys, and I love that we're working toward the same big picture goal of growing our wonderful RC lifestyle ;) Of course, we want you to come her first ;) LOL
