I generally do not comment but I seriously wanted to acknowledge this video. The amount of research gone into this is crazy and there are very few creators who actually dare to give the audience their true opinions on such a topic and not give them what they want to hear .The comprehensiveness of this video is fucking insane . Also i would like to mention that I guess honey singh is not realizing that the audience he catered to in the 2012 era has moved on and most of them have developed a much more mature taste in music .In the new market it doesn't even matter if the creator is the best at what he does the most .They expect him to try out different variations of content and go out of their comfort zone,let alone trying to recreate a success mantra which worked a decade ago .

Relate it to Cinema. Almost all the actors of Amitabh Bachchan's era (like Govinda) have fallen into irrelevency, while he his still a big name in the movies. Why? Coz he evolved with time. Not exactly in terms of how he acted...but the roles he acted in. He realizes that he cannot play the front lead action star persona, so he chooses to do supporting roles (be it a mentor, lawyer, father, etc.). Not only has he stayed relevant but also maintains a stature of respect from the general audiences.
Now look at Honey Singh. Still chasing the sheer hype he had in his prime, without realizing that he's no more the only one doing it now. I am not his audience but even when his "comeback" started at least I knew there was a HS song being released. Now every other week he's on a podcast or a radio show, saying the same stuff. Like, he wants to be in place where every piece of content being put out about gets hype...but how in the earth is he expecting to achieve that considering the amount of things he is doing for staying relevant, is beyond me.
All this without even mentioning the crappy music he is making. If you are unable to evolve yourself then at least don't downgrade to the lowest level of "commercial" stuff. He is still getting views...and will continue to do in the future, but I believe that considering the amount of saturation the music scene is in, the "reputation" of an artist must mean something in the long run. All he had to do was to release a few good songs and maybe a "good" album.

Brilliant video, another point i would like to add is that during 2011 era, indian audience wasn't much aware about the different genres. Honey singh used to educate about the genres with his song. When he introduced dubstep, he mentioned that in his songs like stardom and manali trance. People in 2023 still wont know about different genres but they have heard them through reels and shorts.

This video is NOT saying Honey Singh will not make a comeback, it's saying that what happened then can't happen now. I also came into this video with a closed mind but what he is saying is that YO YO should not be battling with his 2012 era because he *cannot* beat that. There is a nostalgia factor to that era that is impossible to replicate, simply due to the current state of the music scene, because of the competition and the declining longevity of music naturally. The saturation of music and the change/growth of the industry means that Paaji cannot just do the same thing as he did then. He has to change and focus on being his new self, while focusing on making music from his heart, not just a formula for a hit song. He should experiment and bring something new as he did in the 2012s, focusing on his heart, rather than the charts. He cannot *recreate* that, but he can create something different. 💞

Pakistani music espacially Coke Studio Pakistan embraces local languages which is quite folk and soulful. This is something that was present in India music in the 90's which also became very popular in Pakistan. But after Honey Singh, all the Indian actors and singers became "Angraiz ke Aulaad". Their western obsession increased to such the extent that they now talk in English entirely behind the scenes or in their interviews. They add so many English words in their songs with third class lyrics which destroyed the purity of the regional music. EDM and regional music are different genres. They should not be mixed. India should embrace their local music as they have tons of cultures and languages.

Problem is artists are going for numbers, and Listeners don't even care, they take songs from tiktok, fb reels and youtube shorts. An artist can't re-create his Magnum Opus, he just can't. This limits his creativity. Trying to match that level won't work but if they try to make something entirely different, that could work.
