What’s the actual idea and concept you say? The twins flip a coin whoever wins gets to spin a wheel to find out what room they get control over, then they alternate afterwards and the other twin cannot say no to the original concept Connie wants a string light bedroom? Caryn has to place as many string lights as possible, Caryn wants a whalebert yard? Connie can’t say no! The chaos would be so funny but also seeing the twins make everything work despite having total control of different rooms would be so satisfying

16:50 often, especially in old houses, the mystery light switch actually controls an outlet. Maybe check for that!
Yeah I plug my standing lamp into the outlet controlled by the switch and then I can turn it on and off by the light switch!

^_^ Yeha, our house is older and the living room doesn't have any light that are part of the room. So we have lamps plugged in and control with the light switch.
That’s how it works in my house for a lot of stuff. Very handy when the room doesn’t have built in lights.
Also could be the furnace, my house was built in the 80's and we have one that does that. Also extras switches for outside lights/outlets
I love the idea of a little family of 3 living here, and a grandparent who travels a lot and comes to stay in their guest room (hence the suitcases and souvenirs)
if there is an switch without any clear function in a room, it may be that it controls a electrical outlet somehwhere in the room(or a nearby closet/hall/small room). You might be able to go around the room and plug a small electronic (that is easy to tell when its recieving power), plug it into each outlet, test the switch, and see if any of them turn on/off when the switch is flipped. These types of switch controlled outlets seemed to be used for things like lamps as far as I know.

One of my light switch controls both… if you turn off the light then it also shuts off the power cord too! It’s quite annoying to be honest.

So I'll come to the kitchen, turn on the lights, put the kettle on for tea, exit the kitchen, turn off the lights... and sit in the guest room for twenty minutes waiting for the sound of water boiling before I remember.
@@aurora5481 oh geez that sounds troublesome, all of our switch controlled outlets have their own switch so we don’t have to keep the bright lights on constantly.
I wonder why they would have it connected to a preexisting light like that tho? Perhaps it for things like heaters and fans or other appliances you might typically turn on immediately when entering, other than another light/lamp?
@@Code-Redd Yeah, I'm guessing the engineers just conceptualised them as "cooking lights" and had the thought that then if you have left any cooking appliances plugged in when you leave the kitchen, it'll be less hazardous if they get power cut off when you're not there.
Notably, the microwave has a separate plug, since that it an item people regularly leave unattended and it's pretty safe to do so.
They just forgot that so are toasters, kettles, and coffee makers.

Y'all should do a wheel of colour palettes that are out of your comfort zone. I love the blues and greens and neutrals you use so much, but I think some of your best work comes when you're pushed (a la different room aesthetics)

Also for the babies nap room sheep theme, toddler boy nap rooms dinosaur theme, and for the toddler girls you can do a cottagecore/fox nap room. And on the outside, a mini water park/pool with WHALEBERT!! I would love to see this! And according to my research, it must contain STRING LIGHTSS!! Ya’ll are the best and I love when you two post!

@@SusieBlup my games already slow as shit so as much as I love the idea I definitely wouldn’t be able to actually play the game with all the packs on my laptop 😂 as it is I can barely use the world from city living, and I have pretty much all the settings to the absolute minimum (with the exception of a few graphical ones set to medium because I couldn’t deal with looking at the minimum 😂)
a series idea could be you roll a random expansion pack, game, pack, stuff pack, and a kit and that’s what you use for the whole house! (Btw I love you guys and the video🫶)

honestly, i like how the house has the vibe of being super encouraging to the kid's creativity, having art from when years ago still on the fridge to the kid's chagrin, but theyre still artsy and unique (laptop for writing, guitar for music, paper art decorations, etc). the house was already cute on its own, but the LoreTM makes me feel deeply affectionate for it.
(also im willing to bet laptops, even cheap basic ones, are rather common for young kids rn cuz covid and online school).

Get Together is definitely my favorite pack. Windenburg has the perfect mix of city and country. It has nightclubs and coffee shops. And the cool closets that let your sims change all the townies outfits!
Maybe for a video you could do trying to style rooms with one pack but trying to use the pack to do a totally different style than it was intended for (like how you guys made the city living stuff cozy and country looking)

The house could expand and you could use more packs because time has passed and the mom is ~successful~ and has a bigger budget! The perfect opportunity to use the creepy woods wall paper!!!

Also, about the two switches - I have that in my living room, and they both go to the same spot. At first I, too, thought it was useless. Until I remembered ceiling fans.
Now I have a gorgeous ceiling fan with lights and one switch turns on the lights of the fan and one turns on the fan. No more feeling like I’m melting in the summers, yay!
The house I grew up in had a light switch that did literally nothing by the side door, my mom said it was for a "coach light" out by the driveway that we never actually got, but the builders put in wiring for it since our driveway was pretty long, they thought we might want one to light it up. A friend of mine has a light switch wired for a ceiling fan/light combo, but doesn't want a fan so the second switch does nothing. There's all sorts of reasons tbh

Hey, don't mind being one of the "safety nerds," but I will be. The fire alarm/smoke detector is always so high up because hot air(smoke) travels up. So, putting fire an alarm/smoke detector so close to what the source of fire would probably be(the food) contradicts the whole point of it.
Those light switches that seem to do nothing are typically to turn off the power to outlets in a room so you can turn on and off table/floor lamps without having to go one by one.
In our house we don't have any lamps plugged in to those outlets but we do have chargers and a laptop plugged in, so if that switch get flipped off everything will stop charging, so we just used duct tape to keep it permanently on.

For pride month u should spin a wheel with options filled with pride flags like pan or bi and u have to use the pride flag colour scheme for a room! And for Xmas u should totally make like Santa’s workshop and for Halloween can u make a haunted house?

To me the house read as a grandparents house with all their grandkid’s stuff on the walls and their grandkid is over to stay for summer and is staying in their parent’s old room who grew up in the 80’s 🥹

My house has 3 light switches in the hallway/entry area 1 for upstairs 1 for the hallway/entry area and 1 fir the front door light (which doesnt even work)
