Awesome! I started a baby blanket 32 years ago with this stich, moved, lost the book, never finished it. Now I can!!! For the life of me I didn't know what the stitch was since I was just 23 and had just learned to read patterns. Now I can finish it to have ready for my first grandbaby. THANK YOU!!!
I was looking for another video turtorial on how to make the bobble stitch and came across channel. Your video turtorial is so easy to understand and the angle of your camera is great. You can see so clearly your stitches. I was about to give up on this bobble stitch but I new I could do the pattern, because the stitches are so easy to do. The other turtorial I was watching was just a little confusing. So glad I found your channel and I absolutely subscribe to your channel. Can't wait yo finish the bobble stitch pattern so I can start another one of your turtorial. Many thanks for sharing.
Just discovered your channel. LOVE the bobble stitch tutorial. It was very easy to follow. I tried to use another tutorial and was confused had to rip everything several times. Your instructions are very clear; made four bobble rows already. I'm making a scarf as a gift for a needy person in my local community. I'm looking forward to viewing your other tutorials. Thank you.
You're such a clear easy to understand instructor! I've always wanted to learn this stitch but, being so extremely new at crochet, I thought it would be a while. After I saw this tutorial I immediately subscribed to your channel and will urge others to do the same! Thank you so much for your awesome teaching skills!
Thank you so much, Michelle! I really appreciate the kind words and your willingness to share my channel with others. That really helps me to reach and teach more people!
So many cute Amigurumi patterns are in a foreign language using this stitch. Thank you for a clear, detailed tutorial on how to properly execute this stitch.
Fantastic stitch and a great tutorial. I have seen a few other tutorials which make the bubble come out on the front, but mine came out on the back, which made me question my process. When I saw your tutorial, it restored my confidence. Thank you so very much, Lee
I was looking for a way to add some fun to a blanket fir my daughter, and this video was the ticket. THANK YOU so much for uploading this video, it was not only easy to follow you, but you gave very clear directions. This is coming from someone who taught herself to crochet.
I have been watching and learning from you for quite a while now and I just want to let you know I love your tutorials! You speak well, everything is shown clearly, they are concise, bright and very easily followed. All that and without a lot of unnecessary blah blah. ;) Thank you Brittany!
Thank you so much, Daiyanae! I really appreciate your kind words. It has been a learning process of course, and I'm always thrilled to hear my videos are on the right track :)
Many thanks for your video. I watched five others before finding this and it was the easiest to see and understand, not to mention the most complete too. I can't wait to start!
Thank you for all your help today with this video. I will able to make a blanket. Your newer ones are not always as easy . Your help is very nice. We need the extra rows and the extra help thank you again
Wow... Had NO IDEA how much time & yard this took! Wish i hadn't started a single bed sized afghan. Would have done this for baby blanket. I'm committed now but think I'll only work on it as a side project. Easy instructions & great video!
Love this tutorial. I made a little bracelet last night just to practice and now I'm totally confident in your clutch that I'm just about to start for my BFFs birthday. Thank you!
I think i am ready to give this a try. I havs been doing a lot of sc and hdc and I just about have it out of my system haha. I was thinking of making a hotpad/potholder with this stitch.
I've been looking at crochet bobble blankets and it looked like a difficult stitch. However, I've seen your tutorial and it turns out it's not difficult at all. Looking foward to trying this stitch. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Jody! I would recommend trying 6 or 7 dc instead of 5. This will make the bobble stick out further. If you need them to be much bigger, I would recommend using a thicker yarn.
Hi if I do my chain and then do 4 rows of single stitch then do 5 single stitch at the being of row then start my bobble and then 5 single stitch at end of row, do that till iv got it as big as I want then do 4 rows of single stitch then I will have a boarder, do you think that will work out ok
you sure can! Yes, you would still need to add that extra little chain when making your foundation stitches so that your foundation stays straight. You could use any of the three foundation stitches to start off. I just typically use the Sc because it's a short stitch and you can't really see the foundation row.
to make the bobbles zigzag/ set between each other. do you start with an even number plus one unlike this pattern were you start with an odd number plus one?
love this tutorial ive decided to make a baby blanket for when my little one arrives but i have a problem, when i do the first row of bobbles they are fine and straight but when i did the next row it started to tilt forward in the middle but there is still the same amount of bobbles on each row any idea on whats happening?
Hi Natalie! The bobble stitch would make a great pillow, you're definitely on to something there! The number of chains will depend on the size pillow you're making. I would recommend making a chain and comparing it to the pillow or form you'll be covering. Once you have your chain the right length, go back and count the chains and make sure the final number of chains is an odd number. You can always add one chain to the end if needed to make it an odd number without changing the size too much.
I absolutely love your video. I have a question - I found some great charts on pinterest but, they were for cross stitch and bead patterns. Can I use this srirch with those? I found c2c graphghans als that are fine. What types of patterns will this work with? I found a flintstone bead pattern.
That's a great question. There is a slightly different technique for each of the two causing the shape to be slightly different. The popcorn stitch is thicker on the top of the stitch and flatter at the bottom, kind of like a wedge. The bobble stitch is a more round and uniform "bubble".
I couldn't find the tutorial you mentioned. Has it been removed maybe? I have 3 colors I want to try this with but am worried about the color switch over. Thanks for such a great tutorial though! It makes so much sense!

That is so wholesome 😌
Your grandchild is meant to have that blanket

Such a pretty stitch. It would look so pretty in a baby sweater .... just the whole sweater bobbled out!!!

Παρα πολυ ωραιο αποτελεσμα και πολυ ωραια παρουσιαση!!!
I will have to try this. It looks like a fun stitch but a bit involved. Will definitely give it a try.
It definitely takes a little more time and patience but for some projects, it's totally worth it!
I think i am ready to give this a try. I havs been doing a lot of sc and hdc and I just about have it out of my system haha. I was thinking of making a hotpad/potholder with this stitch.

Great video really easy to follow making a blanket for my sisters baby. If i wanted to make the pompom bigger how would i do this
Hi Jody! I would recommend trying 6 or 7 dc instead of 5. This will make the bobble stick out further. If you need them to be much bigger, I would recommend using a thicker yarn.

Does this pattern.use alot of wool . So love the pattern xx
Hi if I do my chain and then do 4 rows of single stitch then do 5 single stitch at the being of row then start my bobble and then 5 single stitch at end of row, do that till iv got it as big as I want then do 4 rows of single stitch then I will have a boarder, do you think that will work out ok
Its really helpful ..thank you..
When you sc into the next st after the bubble do you go back into that st fot the next bubble or do you go to the next chain
thank you great video
can you use a chainless foundation stitches for this if so do you still add 1 in the chain?
you sure can! Yes, you would still need to add that extra little chain when making your foundation stitches so that your foundation stays straight. You could use any of the three foundation stitches to start off. I just typically use the Sc because it's a short stitch and you can't really see the foundation row.
Can you do a double or even triple in between the bobble rows to space the bobbles out?
youve helped me so much! thanks!
Fabulous xxx what size yarn and hook did you use x
Hello I would like to make a boarder around this patten how would I do it please x
Do you do the 5 double crochet's in the same hole that you did the single crochet in to finish up the bobble?
You'll work the 5 double crochets for the bobble in the next stitch over from the single crochet :)
What yarn color is that i love it!
Do you have a video on how to do a border for this bobble blanket?
to make the bobbles zigzag/ set between each other. do you start with an even number plus one unlike this pattern were you start with an odd number plus one?
It says in the written directions to start with an odd number! :)
Thanks so much!
How would one add a border to a blanket of this stitch? There's a natural scallop on either end. Just looking for reccomendations/suggestions.
love this tutorial ive decided to make a baby blanket for when my little one arrives but i have a problem, when i do the first row of bobbles they are fine and straight but when i did the next row it started to tilt forward in the middle but there is still the same amount of bobbles on each row any idea on whats happening?
Do you have any idea how many chains I would need to make a baby blanket.Love the tutorial!!!!
+Diamond Mull I love this st. too an I think 80 sts. + 1 would make a nice size
To get the bobbles to sit in between each other you start with an odd number. So I'd chain an even number and add one correct? So chain 12 and add 1?
Knifty knitter loom knitting
Gostei de tudo e agradeco a vossa boa vontade em ensinar fazer coisas tao lindas.
Hello , does your chain expand in size when doing the bobble stitch ?
Hi there I love your videos!! This is giving me an idea to make a pillow but I'm wondering how many chains should I make??
You can always add one chain to the end if needed to make it an odd number without changing the size too much.
great....keep up the great work!!
can you dc instead of sc?
I absolutely love your video. I have a question - I found some great charts on pinterest but, they were for cross stitch and bead patterns. Can I use this srirch with those? I found c2c graphghans als that are fine. What types of patterns will this work with? I found a flintstone bead pattern.
Yes, you definitely can! Any graph should be able to translate to this stitch - one pixel equals one bobble. :)
how do u get the hooks out with the bubble stitch mine get stuck
vicki jen your tension must be too tight x
where do I find the pattern for this?
Do you have an offset bobble tutorial?
I would like to ask you, how much chains it takes to do a bobble, and how many chains I need to add when I want to add one bobble?
hi. it's me again. how do you connect each side of the finished product? like making a pouch
Is this stitch suitable for making a carpet?
Do The button piece have to be single crochet
Can I use a chunky yarn for this?
Can we have a second for the sims-like intro music hahahahhaha
Can you do a tutorial to make the bibles sit between each other instead of on top? I can't find one on here in English. Many thanks.
I meant bobbles obviously lol 😆
Lol :) absolutely, that's a great idea!
Hi! what's the difference between the bobble and the popcorn stitch
That's a great question. There is a slightly different technique for each of the two causing the shape to be slightly different. The popcorn stitch is thicker on the top of the stitch and flatter at the bottom, kind of like a wedge. The bobble stitch is a more round and uniform "bubble".
+B.hooked Crochet ohh thank you. I thought it's just the same but using a different tecnique
how would you suggest changing colors if you wanted the bobbles to alternate colors in the rows instead of alternating every row
