How poetic his last game doing play-by-play was against the Giants - the team he grew up a fan of and Dodgers main rival - and then he passes away while both teams are playing against each other.

Vin Scully coincidentally, was always in San Francisco for the big finales for his broadcasting career. He called the final NFL game of his career (the 1981-82 NFC Championship Game on CBS between the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys) at Candlestick Park. And then on October 9, 1989, Vin called his final baseball game for NBC, which was Game 5 of the NLCS between the San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs, again at Candlestick Park. Ten years later, on September 30, 1999, Vin was on hand for the very last baseball game at Candlestick Park, which was between the Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Such a fitting send off to an absolute ornament of the game. Thanks Vin for the fine commentary over the decades.
I saw Vin fom a distance when he came to Sydney, Australia for the season opener Dodgers / D'Backs in 2014. The game was played at the Sydney Cricket Ground, a facility that has existed since around 1850. There is time lapse vision on YT showing the magnificent cconversion for the three games played.

Can Fox please bring in Vin to call at least one game this World Series? I know it's a lot to ask for, but it would really be a fitting sendoff.

Any up and coming announcer, while being allowed to form their own selves and style, should be made to watch Vin Scully; classy announcer all the way.
