Heyy❤️, I hope you good I choose room D by mistake. So I just wanted to find out if it has sunlight or where is it placed? And also is it possible to change rooms cause I really want sunlight😭😭
There’s no away of knowing which room gets sunlight the building is big, so I also don’t know you’d need to go view the room and see it for yourself
Hey babe. People have been complaining about Kingsway saying they have been bathing with cold water for the whole year. I applied so I want to know what I will expect next year. Reviews about kingsway are bad so what's your take on that
Hey babe the water situation has been fixed at the moment we’ve had hot water I think since August consistently
Then between May and July the hot water was inconsistent on one side of the building like you’d catch the hot water maybe in the mornings or at night
The other side of the building had hot water the whole year
To be honest I feel like all accommodations have their own problems, as UJ student that goes to APK, Kingsway is convenient for me cause no buses it’s close and like tbh cold water was the only problem ,the other things are good like the maintenance responds quickly when you report stuff,it’s safe like for me it’s okay
Idk how next year will be but then it was okay for me this year

Yes we have a rooftop and braai area and other areas for entertainment,you can come to view.

I'd like to enquire if Kingsway buses operate on weekends and do they go to wits education campus
Idk much about wits anymore because last I checked they have a new building called Apex that’s close to wits and they moved all the wits students to Apex and apparently it’s full there

Hey. Is your res NSFAS accredited and if so , are NSFAS students allowed to get single rooms as well ?
Yes it is Nsfas accredited
You get your own room and don’t top up 💕.

I've seen so many bad reviews on the internet 🙆♀️ on a scale of 0-10 how would you rate the services?
My stay there was probably 7/10
The only problem was hot water but they fixed it so it’s 10/10 rn it’s okay man

No that’s not true
Every tenant has a right to a visitor regardless of the year of study you are doing

I think rent is going for R5500 next year but you can check the official Kingsway website for accurate prices as they change sometimes

hey I applied at uj and they got me residence at junior female residence kingsway campus so I wanted to know if is it the same res as this one the Kingsway place or it's not please help
It is not the same res
“Kingsway Place Student Accommodation “ is not owned by UJ, its privately owned, it’s not inside UJ,and it’s for both females and males
“Kingsway Campus “ the UJ campus so that means the res you got is inside school
I stand to be corrected though but that’s what I know about my res it’s not uj property

The security is Good haven’t had anything crime incident happen

Apply online after your results and university acceptance when you 100% sure you’re going to UJ

It’s not far from uj APK so there’s no transport you can just walk .

Yes it’s near Kingsway Campus
You can check the rates on the Kingsway place website they change every year

Yes sleep overs are allowed
Do you also get your own bathroom and kitchen?
No
You share the kitchen and bathroom.
But you have your own separate room
Do you buy prepaid electricity?if so, do you get a certain amount every month before you have to buy more electricity?
Yes we prepaid electricity
You get R200 each, then normally top up with R50 each,sometimes you don’t top up depending on how smart you are with your electricity consumption

I applied online using their website, I applied in January 2022 ,early January
No I applied when I was heading to my second year

Last year yes it was free, everyone gets 4 free sleep overs per month
