I’m glad to hear that.
One of the best videos on succulents, thank you
Very informative for us succulent lovers.. Will apply to my plants as well... Thank you :)
Great video. It says it all. By far, the most often mistake made with succulents by overwatering. I have an Echeveria Von Nurnberg that dropped a petal or two and it occured to me that I probably overwatered it the last time I watered. I'll use this one as an experiment in that I'll let it go say 2 weeks without water and when I do, it will be with a dropper, not a watering can with a spout. That way, I can be sure not to overwater. What do you think?
Let me add to that and say you probably have the best and most practical informative channel on TH-cam. I'm so glad I found your channel! Keep up the great work. This coming from one of your most avid fans!
@@daleandrews3552 thank you very much for appreciating!
Thank you for these videos. Your succlulents are beautiful and this is very helpful. I live in Michigan and would like to have these indoors. If they are in an east-facing window, will they still get enough sun to retain their colors? I don't have many colorful ones, but would like to get some and I want them to stay pretty, but I want to enjoy them inside. They don't do well outside during summer heat or snow.
ellenoid the colorful ones elongate faster when placed indoors or in the shade. If you want to grow indoors, select the ones that requires low lighting.Try zebra plants,, panda plants, jades and haworthias. I always try to experiment. Ones they start stretching, I move them outdoors.
thank you for your amazing tips but could you help me out some more please. During your video at time 3:05 that pale green succulent hanging off to the side, could you tell me the name of it. I have the same one but don't know the type so i can't care for it the right way.
Your channel is the best you’ve been teaching me stuff That has really helped me grow my succulents thank you so much your work is amazing keep it up
Hi I would like to ask, how do you protect your succulents from frost? I live in Southern California and new to succulents thank you
Videos on succulents from other channels vary so much as to watering, soil, position etc, everyone has there own ideas on growing watering and propagating , there does not seem to be any hard and fast rules to growing succulents. Some say do not get water on the plan itself others say you can get water on the leaves.! I am a bit confused as to which is right and which is wrong, does anyone else have opinions about this? I am just curious..Cheers from down under.....PS.I really enjoy your videos, love you garden.
Glad you feel the same, They never say what time of the year is the best time to propagate .and also one of them says when you succulent is stressed if you water them they will change to green, well i have had Jelly beans in the garden in a pot and they have bee getting a lot of rain and they are a nice red coulour, according to succulent sites if they are watered they will revert to green !.. Who can you believe? @Mohammad Ayub Mirza
I understand your confusion. The leaves of some succulents are very delicate. The water that settles on top of their leaves will not cause any damage if the weather is just mild, but if it is hot, it can magnify and make it very hot for the leaves which in turn can leave a dark sunburn mark which will not go away.
Watering succulents vary depending on what variety you have, the size if the plant, location, humidity level, sunlight exposure, and even the container and soil used. The best way to understand succulents water requirements is to understand their uniqueness and the special way they handle water. Always bear in mind that although all succulents store water, the way they handle water is not the same.
Hi. Do you have any succulent cuttings, leaves cuttings still available? If you have please comment how i can get them. Im just a beginner and i don't find much succulents here in my area. Im specially interested to have moonstone, jelly bean, if you have or anything else available. Thank you so much for sharing.

love your succulents and your voice too...😊 they're all beautiful.
Thank you for appreciating.
Hello, how do you water them in winters? we have milder winters but the sun sometimes doesn't shine for weeks. Some of my succulents need watering but i feel like the cold and wet conditions might kill them.
thanks a lot for the great information madam..

Absolutely beautiful succulents

Hello Theresa ! Where do you buy coarse sand ? Thank you so much,,, take care always . 🌸
Thanks for your lovely videos
In the glass teapot did you have to drill a hole? If you drill a hole please do video showing us how to drill holes. Thank you.
Hello and thank you for the much needed tips. My question is As I live in a place where humidity is like 63% and tempt goes up-to 39°c in the summer, how much should I water my succulents? And my succulents get 2-3 hours of morning sunshine. Is that alright?
Water when the soil is completely dry
whats wrong with elongated? i hear people talk about that but i dont get it, doesn't that add to the variety? I like when my plants have strange or different features from each other. some of my house plants fell over and grew kind of sideways but i don't care
Lildizzle420 there are different kinds of elongation. If they elongate because they are matured, you are right, it adds to the beauty of the plant. But, when they elongate because they lack sunlight, it’s different. When the original plant that looks like rosettes becomes elongated in just few days, with leaves that looks pale and small, that means that they are Not really happy with where they are. They look sick sometimes. Their stem can become very thin and weak. It does not reflect a healthy plant. But, it’s always up to the you what is beautiful in your eyes. Just like some people love crested succulents and others don’t.
your explanation is very helpful thank you, I just subscribed to your channel
Lildizzle420 thank you! I’m glad I earned another subscriber! 😘
Thank you so much! This was so helpful, and your succulent arrangements are absolutely beautiful. Happy gardening. :)
Is there any substitute of perlite ??
Thankyou for sharing your information. Very informative. 😀
You are very welcome!
Theresa, thank you for sharing your tips.

For the soil, can I just use cactus mic soil?
Can we use vermiculite as a substitute to perlite?

Love your VD's! Could you do one on how to grow Comptons!? Thank you💜
Michele Jones I will try. Thank you for the suggestions.
Chopstick and Succulents. Thx, that would be WONDERFUL if u can!
First time viewer, enjoyed your video, subcribed. May I ask difference in catus care,I see then together in pot and can you use ocean sand, thank you
They both need to be planted in well draining soil and overwatering is the easiest way to kill them. I am geared more towards collecting succulents as I can use them for a lot of projects. I believe you can, try to use coarse sand.
I've been using cactus soil mix I get from home depot and it's worked for my succulants fine, would it be preferred to make the mix you've used?
Mia Vega use whatever works for you. Whatever it is.
Can you still overwater succulents if you use the home depot cactus mix? Home depot people say basically there is no way you can overwater them if you use that mix......
H.Y H. There are so many factors that can lead to overwatering. As long as you know when to water. Yes, Home Depot cactus soil is also good enough.
Thanks Chopstick ;) your video is one of the most helpful videos that are out there.
H.Y H. Thank you very much for the encouragement.
Thanks again for sharing this important information. Great video.
You ware welcome. Thanks for appreciating.
I love your vids! I hope to see more videos about caring tips! Thank you!
Thank you for your suggestions!
wow whats the best time for haworthia to have sunlight. i want to stop moving them from time to time just to have evening and morning light so i decided on a spot that would receive direct sunlight from 8am to 10am. would that be fine?
lester lee what’s the name of yours? Some are pretty when under the shade and you can appreciate their intricate patterns when grown in shade.
lester lee if you worry about getting them sunburned, watch our detailed video tutorial about it.
I have
cooperi
einwardtii
mirabilis mundula
cymbiformis var. obtusa
truncata
fasciata.
which of them prefer indoors. thanks in advance. :)
lester lee you’ve got good collections of crassulas there. Most crassulas need some shade during hot summer months. Those with vibrant colors would require bright light to attain and maintain it. Those which are originally green should do well indoors but may will still need some light from time to time.
For the potting mix, is cactus soil okay?
Tracey Vu yes
Can i place succulent in indoor without any sunlight?
Hi, I am from Bangladesh. the Temperature is 40 in summer, which is for 4/5 months here.I do have a great passion for succulents, especially for those watched in TH-cam, but have issues in maintaining. Most of these gradually die after purchased. What can I do?
woww so nice plants. ♥️♥️♥️
Thank you sooo much for sharing,!
You are welcome
Wow ! mam what a succulents collection you have.... I want to pick all of them....whenever I saw your video...may I😢?
New sub and definitely hooked on succulents. One place I've had success buying them and it's at my local Lowes store. They have a reduced plant section so I buy those and bring them back to life. What type of fertilizer do you use? Water soluble or time release fertizer? Thanking you in advance. Love the passion that you have for growing them.
Perry Neuroth I use water soluble and only once a year.
Wait I am confused. I read in some pages thag succulents(echeveria) should not have direct sunlight? Can you enlighten me with this please?
Trevor Maralli succulents love the sun and they need full sun in order to be colorful. Some succulents however are more delicate than others and can get sunburned easily. Yes, especially those delicate echeverias. Those with fleshy leaves and those matured and rooted ones can tolerate more sun. However, you need to slowly introduce them to direct sunlight to allow them to acclimatize in order to cope.
Chopstick and Succulents thank you, that was enlightening :)
Trevor Maralli you are welcome
AMAZING!! Thank you for your devotion😉.
Cynthia Ridgeway you are very welcome!
I am new to succulents and my babies look really limp and unhealthy (I planted them from cuttings), and Idk why. Is it because I am fussing too much over them? Should I water less (the top layer is already dry)?
Can succulents receive direct sunlight?
I got echeveria one month ago but it is not producing saplings to the sides as I saw in the nursery. how to make echeveria grow faster.
Matured ones will eventually produced babies. When they are stressed out, they become dormant and usually does not produce offsets as well.
Super madam. I liked it tips.
Mam, kindly let me know,in which month we should propogate succulents.I am living in North India.
I do not follow any specific month. I propagate when I see the plant ready.
Thanks for the tip for my precious succulents.
You are welcome! I hope it helps.

How to revive stressed Aeonium sedum please help
This is so helpful, thank you so much!!!
You are very welcome Clara!
Should i put my cactus directly under the sun maam?
I am super frustrated with myself because I keep killing the succulents I buy.
I follow your exact directions but they still die. :( usually from too much water. But I wait until the soil is super dry and then soak them and let them drain.
They are indoors by huge windows with no direct sunlight but lots of indirect. I do live in Florida so maybe it’s just too humid to use the soaking method?
Or should I repot them in different soil?
Those are general guidelines mostly geared towards outdoor succulents. Indoor succulents should be treated with extra care when it comes to watering. Check your soil mixture, check the size of your container in proportion with the plant ( how big is your plant and how much water you think your container will hold? That would be the amount of water that the plant will absorb) because the water will not evaporate fast indoors, therefore, your plant will be sitting their for days in wet soggy soil. You need to assess your plant as well and determine if they need water. Who knows, they are still full of water and you watered again.
So the pot cannot be too large in terms of proportion comparing with the plant. If the plant is small, use a very small pot, so, you'd rather the pot is too small rather than too big......am I right?
What is t work of perlite
Please explain

I very new to theses succulents I don't know what is happening to my plant can you please help me and I think there are 2 baby growing but daily leaf is dieing please help my plant
Seetha Latha no problem . Send me pictures of your plant via messenger.
Kindly let me know in which month we should propogate succulent
I do not have any specific months when propagating. When I have projects, I go around in the garden and cut whatever I think is appropriate for the project. When the plant starts to grow longer, I prune them and plant cuttings.

Chhaya Dandwate I use potting soil 1/2 and add 1/4 perlite and 1/4 sand
Chopstick and Succulents is potting soil means garden soil?
I want to about potting soil.is this mixture of different ingredients
They are kind of the same. Here, we have potting soil mix. Tiu can use garden soil but mix it with perlite and sand to make it well draining.
I come from a country that is always raining. Morning sunlight but afternoon it rain so i cannot put it anywhere that has sun. I have a small greenhouse, do you think i can put it inside..the roof is tall with uv plastic and lots of air coming in, like breezy..
