What a great collection of Ashaji and Op nayyarji. I do miss the songs of the killers 1968 . Churate ho nasere (Bela bose) & nasere mila ke ( Helen).
Happy to say I belong their period and Nayyar hi being a non conventional music director had to compete with great giants but he excelled so much that all other directors had to take him seriously. I can see how much relevant Nayyarji is. With Ashaji what melody , my whole family enjoys .

Since last sixty years I have been listening n singing nenjoying these two legends.O.P. Nayyar has gifted us treasure of music n Ashaji melodies.Rip op nayyar sahab.
While OP's even older (than picked here) compositions were notch higher, the ones selected in here has made excellent compilation, never the less. Kitna hasin hai ye jahaan and Aaaj koi pyar se are well picked. Many of OPs TOP compositions, like Balmaa khuli hawa mein from Kashmir ki Kali, and Main Pyar Ka Rahi Hoon from Ek Musafir Ek Hasina were simply shunted out of respective films so recklessly or what don't know.
Balma khuli hawa mein song was taken out as censor board didn’t like the dress worn by Sharmila Tagore

Ma'am then you didn't hear Lata sing for Madan Mohan. No music composer can match the MM, once Lata herself said in her interview. But I like OPN, and often listen OPN and AB.
This is to me a voice I seem to have known forever. Her tone is like no other. Angelic and transcendent. Full of power like a storm but delicate like a flower petal.Hers is the voice of the universe if it was to have one. I always come to her music to cleanse my soul. Sheer elegant brilliance.

I had been a great follower of music composed by O P Nayyar, the great, almost since the early '60s. He had his unique way of bringing some kind of fusion of various instruments in his compositions and never missed a beat where required. The dolakh and tap beats were the essential ingredients around which he produced tunes from various instruments. He had the knack of deriving thd best of the youthful and sensuous voices among the singers. He made delighgful blends of conventional and non-conventional compositions and rarely strayed from rhythm. In the kind of style and stamp he branded his compositions, he stood out among other composers. He had perfect control over the orchestra around him. Ardent fans of O P Nayyar could easily identify his compositions when hearing the first time. A energy-filled excitement & delight used to fill their senses, when hearing his composition the first time and every time.

Was very fortunate to have met O.P.Nayyar in Secunderabad in his edler brothers house in 1996 & Asked him how he Made such lovely Tunes which are ever Green his Reply was that at that time when he used to compose just by hearing the lyrics the tunes used to Flow within 10 to 20 Minutes not only one tune of the same lyrics but 6 to 7 tunes which he used to compose & let the director decide on Best tune. Such was the Genius.

We all still listen to OP's music after 50 years. His music was mesmerizing in the late 50's and particularly in the 60's.Who can forget the music of CID, Mere Sanam, Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon, Yeh Raat Phir Na Aayegi, Phagun and many others. He finally, after many years, lost his magic touch in the early 70's."Chain Se Hamko Kabhi" from 1972 was his last hit song. As a matter of fact, most musicians have a creative peiod of about 10 to 15 years. Shankar Jaikishan had about 18 years. !950 to 1968. This fact applies to musicians the world over. Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bee Gees.
