Excellent underrated movie, one for the thinkers and purists, Hollywood it is not, and it's so much better for that. The dark cinematography really works to portray the underlying wickedness that eventually comes to the fore.
Good acting, decent plot, convoluted presentation, downer movie throughout. Crap ending. Worth watching if you are bored. Not bad for a free movie. Not great either. 2 1/2 out of 5 stars.
At the end of the movie it did not make sense what so ever! ( dad and son kill the father from church,) But then you see the father from church with the son looking in the casket at his dad, But then you see his dad again later,Does not make sense to me, But thumbs up for trying
Dad dies, from whatever, maybe an overdose out of the pill bottle on the table when mum's really sad; his presence in the car scenes, in the woods with the ghastly vicar, in the prison cell, is, let's say, spectral, sort of a guardian angel. Try 'Wade in the Water', really really good.
