- Here I describe the architecture of Gitlab CI, specifically the job-to-job artifact system and how the machines, runners, and workspaces are abstracted away from the user and what this means for small are large software projects. I highly recommend viewing my previous videos on Gitlab and Gitlab CI, links below.

UPDATE 9/2019: In this video I touch on Gitlab CI not being able to test the merged state of a topic branch. This is technically no longer true, see new enterprise feature: docs.gitlab.co...
If you are looking for an effective concise introduction to Git, I highly recommend my "Fundamentals of Git" course on Udemy: www.udemy.com/...

Thank you very much! Your videos saved me from hours of googling to understand what gitlab ci is. I learned a lot!
I always wondered who are those humanities guys who dislike such brilliant crystal clear topics explanations? I spent a week looking for a guru who might take you through that high misterious matter, and that man - Dan, did that in one breath. I just take off my heat!
Thank you very much! Your videos saved me from hours of googling to understand what gitlab ci is
you are simply the best explainer
Thanks!
Very well explained, thanks for this video series
LMAO @ the Vision. I just caught this after a couple of months on WandaVision. So when you say "The Vision" it makes me feel good!!
very clear explanation. Thanks
Nice video bro. Thanks for clearing thing up
Thanks for your videos, very informative! Extra Kudos for updating description when the feature set changes! One suggestion: Could you also set short annotations in the video, so people see it, automatically during the video already? - Also the latest "con" should be gone now too, as you mentioned in another video desc.
Thank you for putting in the work on this video!
Thanks for the video. How to deploy via cicd if machine is behind the windows bastion host. My aws instance is behind windows bastion. Is this task possible. Currently my cicd is deploying to dev environment(public IP), the requirement is to deploy to prod environment(privateIP)
Thank you
cool
May want to note that your Con of "Testing the merged state is not possible before merge" can be mitigated by using the "Merge Commit with semi-linear history" strategy.
Great point! I talk about this in detail in my "Merge Request Merge Methods" video. Furthermore there's a new capability in the latest version of GitLab that supports testing the merged state. I have updated this video's description with those details. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for this and one thing to be get rid of, don't make noises from your mouth it is really uncomfortable to hear. Thank you for the good work
who are these people who clicked on the dislike button ?
