These beginners guides are a god send, I've been intrigued about this game for a while and found the time to give it a go, I've been confused and trying to work out what everything means. You have been a huge help. You have a great style and make things sound simple when you explain them, thanks for being a great teacher and making these videos
This was super helpful, I started playing a month or so ago and I'd figured out a lot of this through trail and error, but I didn't realize the reward book had other tabs!!! Thanks for making this guide!
For beginners, I would recommend ignoring the cosmetic rewards on the reward book tree and solely focusing on lore nods (ones that cost 5 reward points each and give progressively more ores). Look at all the reward book trees and choose the ones that have their lore nods closest to their starting points. This is one of the quickest ways to get ores, and thus cards. Edit: For example, Scoia'Tael faction tree and Crimson Curse tree have their lore nods very close to their starting points so you can easily unlock all of them without spending much reward points. The ore nods that cost 3 reward points for 2 kegs or 200 ores are also worth picking up. Also, try not to mill cards even if you're currently not planning on playing them anytime soon. Try to only mill bronze cards which you have more than 2 copies of, or gold cards which you have more than 1.

You explain this game the best! OMG. It's so frustrating how you really want to get into this game but there's so many confusions about game mechanics and terminology. Even the official TH-cam tutorial is very confusing for me. You're the best TH-camr to do this for me. Thanks a whole ton!
I think this explanation is great for complete beginners. I think a vid about strategies for unlocking content would be nice too. Questions like: 1) Kegs for bronze cards, crafting for golds? 2) At what point buying more kegs from one faction is not worth it anymore? After 30? 3) Story nodes being the most optimal, then 3 key nodes, then the rest... 4) Neutral cards that fit many decks that are worth crafting first? etc ;)
Yeah i’m doing the same thing. Don’t have nearly as many scraps but have enough to buy 150 kegs which should get me quite a bit of scraps and hopefully some lucky openings.
12:10 not gonna lie i snorted alil. Thx for the guide, 2nd day ingame, spend all my keys on emyr getting stories and chests. opened 25 kegs got 5 legendarys. Going for a spy lock deck, which is quite decent. Thx again for all the effort. (p. s what i like about gwent is the fact that there is not a single deck, you can adapt/manipulate it the way you want) so its essentially up to you to win, nothing is foolproof, on the other hand what do i know 🤣
Hi, I’m pretty new to Gwent but I understand the basics and some basic strategy stuff but I’m starting to wonder what to do next. I’m looking for a good guide for like mid level strategy. I feel all the guides I find are either talking about stuff I already know or like pro decks and strategies that go right over my head. Any ideas or guides would be awesome thx
Can you tell the locations of the must have cards in the reward book? Like, for example, Yeneffer invocation etc etc., thank you. I am a beginner and having a hard time to win with my current starter deck 😭
Ounce the journey ends and you havent finished it does it cycle back to that journey and do you keep your level? And as for the rewards book do the seasonal rewards cycle back and keep you place or does it reset?
Hello, thx for the very informative Video. You said you get RP at the end of the Season dependig on how high you placed in the ladder. Is there a page where i can look up how much i get for what rank?
Now i still dont know how to unlock those story nodes and where to get those scrolls... Also would be nice if you could telll which invests get the maximum rewards early on.
Hi. Many thanks for this cery comprehensive video. I am starting and I have selected ST as my starting faction. Should I stick to it or start building decks from other factions at the same time? And how many matches per day is worth aiming at to improve and level up?
There's going to be a big expansion at the end of the month so i'd save any resources til then. ST has fared pretty well since homecoming so I'd say you'll be fine. Just avoid Syndicate because they're not very beginner friendly and their cards don't mesh well if you don't have certain numbers of spenders and generators. I've stuck with 5-10 matches a day which is pretty casual and i've reached pro rank. Though it took me about 6 months before i had the resources to craft cards at will. hope that helps
GG… I never even knew there was a GG button. I got to say I’ll start GGing now, but what I don’t understand is why they make it so small and hard to use. Personally, I have always use a GG button… Why not when loser draw I always appreciate playing the game. Even if somebody bails on the game and gives me free wins, and I don’t mean they lost connection, who cares. I guess my point is, whether you GG everyone or you use your discretion, I think the real problem is most people don’t even know there’s a GG button where it is and how to use it. I have to look for it but I was reading and read it that it’s also on a screen that you can’t back screen to once you hit the next. Anyway… I wish someone with influence in their development team, or on their development team, but talk to them about making the Button prominent and easier to use and if it’s still not in the new tutorial put it in the new tutorial.
Hello jaggerous.. which is the most OP faction and deck? I am using monster thrive deck and i m at rank 4.i have some difficult matchups against Nilfguard.
Nilfgaard does well against monsters because they have good tall removal with poisons and things like innovation. Mystic Echo harmony is one of the most consistent decks at the moment and does well against most other decks. Teching a Pellar in your monsters for purifying poisons might help against Nilfgaard if you don't have one already.
@@Jaggerous I started playing gwent from last month. I already crafted Most of the monster n syndicate cards. Now making all scoitel cards will take so much time.
Hey! I guess there are not really OP factions. Certain archetypes have some advantages against some decks and fail against other kinds of decks. Harmony is Tier 1 this season, but can be locked down and can struggle against tall removal. The same with Nilfgaard, specially the double ball kind of decks, which have a lot of control and removal but struggle a lot against decks that get a lot of points from swarming, for example the Draug NR or Deadeye Ambush ST. Monsters have some archetypes that work good, but their issue can be tall removal. You may want to aim to a Kikimore queen if you want to swarm your opponent, and some players don’t really know how to answer it, so it may be an option. Take in mind that an Yrden or Igni can screw your strat. Maybe an Oberwhelming hunger Deck with Detlaff and Ruhein.
money now can buy anything ... i feel a little bit angry when i remember how much hours i spend in this game to collect all the cards i have now then i see a new player who spend 1/1000 the time i spent and have all the card exist .... for me money ruined the gaming world ... i don't know where is the fun when you buy all the card without efforts !!
Money can only buy pre-made packs(not all are good cards) and kegs(which are random). And remember that the people who buy in-game things supports the game and let it live.

I got around 35k scraps and powder for 18 kegs but I'm waiting for the expansion to arrive so I can get expansion cards :)

you filthy damned pay to win player
"And Boris get you 50 cause he's epic"
**Happy Boris noise**
Look at those ores and scraps😳😳
How many kegs would be enough to purchase in the new expansion to get all new cards? Thank you so much for the guide

All right, that's was very fast
You can link GOG and Steam and then you will receive the cards from the Thronebreaker set
That was an urgent question for me Thanks for helping...
The premium cards look really cool in this game. How ptw is it? I just started playing last night.
Thank You!

As a veteran player, how much kegs do you think that it needs to complete all the expansion cards?
Thanks !
I dont have half the menus you are showing >
that was very informative but how do you have so much scraps and ores!!!
I started playing Gwent in January 2017. I've accumulated quite a bit in that time.

70 new cards if I remember correctly. That’s pretty much the case for most expansions.

Thanks!
I played 4 weeks with out realizing that you could craft cards. I thought we had be lucky and get the cards via kegs. That day was a good day
Francesca hoarding for expansion but lil sacrifice for beginners will do...
I will sacrifice my resources for the sake of learning.
no new season pass ?
I'm not sure. But CDPR said in the past that if there's no pass it reverts to the old system. So it's worth mentioning the old system.

That is just stupid way of thinking.
