Can't expect everyone to know my whole story! 😄 But for anyone curious, I've done strict carnivore, ketovore, dairy-free ketovore (and many of other things!) each for many months or years. I got a lot of benefits from every single one of them. The thing, though, that has moved the needle in my health the most drastically over the past few years has been the work I did on my gut... and a huge part of that was herbal supplements that came from PLANTS ☠️! That's when my idea of carnivore being the only/best way for ME to be healthy started to crumble. Like Jon said in the video, I think it's an amazing and sometimes life saving tool (a tool I've used in the past and might even use again in the future!) and I'm glad it works for so many people to get to the bottom of their health and addiction issues! I get a lot of comments from people that want to share how much better they feel eating carnivore. Wonderful! I hear you and I believe you! I would also ask that you would be willing to believe someone when they say that they feel better doing something that's different than what works for you. Thank you! 🥰
My two cents on the matter is the carnivore lifestyle isn’t forgiving to flip flops in veg intake, the reaction gets worse every time you go back and forth. Assuming you stay strict for 6 months to a year. Its almost like your body knows its toxic and is meeting it with due force. That said fructose is a special case, if you want to gain quick fat ( weight ) it is a great option, it turns off the cell regulators bypasses a lot of safety switches and allows you to put on weight rapidly in a quick amount of time. Almost like our ancestors needed to do so one month of year to keep from starving to death. Is it healthy? No. is it a survival tool? Yes

I cannot count how many times I have said that. Over and over I have commented on different videos and Facebook pages that very thing. The big thing for me was joint pain and chronic diarrhea and asthma. Going carnivore really cleared all that up. I still do have some joint pain because right now I’m having arthritis problems. But it is due to the career I chose. I stood on cement floors for over 40 years. I did heavy, heavy, lifting and now my body is paying the price. @@cyndimanka While I was on keto, my A1c still drifted into the diabetic range, I developed stage three kidney disease, and incurred significant heart damage. These things are all fixed after a little over a year on carnivore.
I love that you are presenting a more personal approach. While carnivore can help many people with many things, it gets tiresome to hear it being touted as the one cure-all 👍
One of the most profound things Jonathan said in my opinion was something like "don't let dogma get in the way of doing what you need to do for your optimal health." Now that's what I call a healthy mindset and you IndigoNili is what you have! I am soooo happy for you, because as I also have been dealing with hyperthyroidism and then hypothyroidism, it is a very bumpy road and it feels so good to be in touch with what we really need to be and feel optimally healthy. Thank you for your valuable information and willing to do what you need to do for you. All the best and have a wonderful time with your beautiful family on your vacay!
Same thoughts here! He has interesting information. I've been ketovore for 10+ years and feel I'm still not healthy and healing. If I add in more carbs, I feel so much more hungry during the day, and cravings come back. I've been hypothyroid for 24 years. I joined the Go Carnivore group today and am looking for a naturopath for further support. My current PCP just will not support me in the way I need. By the way, I'm not enjoying all the rain we've been having in Oregon this past couple of weeks! I so want the sun to come back out!
ABSOLUTELY look into reducing vegetable/seed oils! A huge part of why carnivore makes a huge difference for folks is they end up inadvertently eliminating seed oils. Tallow, butter, ghee, avocado oil-look into it Indigo!
She’s aware of seed oils. I’ve avoided seed oils since the early 90’s. I was eating clean keto for 5ish years, but still having major issues. I went carnivore, and within 3 days I knew my life had changed. In 2 weeks of carnivore, 90% of my mental and physical health issues were *gone!* ❤️🍀
Great info for newbies. If you watch any of Indigo's grocery hauls. you'll see she reads labels and avoids certain items specifically due to seed oils. She has researched a lot already. You can research her videos over the last 2 years. Theres a ton of good info for all❤
Nili, So interesting, seeing what affects your lab levels and how you feel. Please keep sharing! Love learning others’ experiences in the comments as well! ❤
Nooooo!!! After 6 years of strict keto and sky high cholesterol (I’m an LMHR), I recently added about 70- 80g carb per day in the form of fermented grains and a half banana. My endurance is better (cyclng 60minutes every morning, 2 HIIT days per week, and strength training 3x/week). I also reduced sat fat for the most important end point for me, and I dropped my LDLc by 150 points!! Do what works for your body, your health, and supports your activity goals. You are the CEO!!
Argh. Longevity is directly correlated with high LDL, not the opposite. Carbs lower you LDL simply because you're eating less fat so have less to transport around the body.
I’ve been watching you for about five years. I have commented many times that I ditched the vegetables and I have never felt better. I went carnivore in April 2022. I don’t have the joint pain. I also don’t have some other issues that came along with spices. About the only things I eat are beef, chicken, eggs, egg, white bread and occasional side dish that could be anything from rice which is rare to green beans. I would say about 90% of the time I’m just eating meat. I eat breakfast meat and eggs every day for breakfast if I eat breakfast. It could come later in the day and then for dinner. I have a piece of meat. Sometimes I have cottage cheese. I don’t eat a lot of cheese because of my asthma. My diet is very simple but guess what, I don’t have to raise a family. It’s just me and my husband. I think that when you’re trying to raise a family, it’s very difficult. I went on the carnivore diet to find out what was bothering me. It didn’t take long and after watching Dr. Berry I could’ve already had an idea. After that I dove into the doctor chaffee Dr. Baker Bart Kay and others world. It’s interesting that so many of the keto people are gone. Amy doesn’t really do what she did. Janet has gone off the rails and is not keto. There’s just a handful of you out there. If they want certain content, they need to go find it. And fight day I mean people who want to eat vegetables and make keto desserts. That’s just not me. I wasn’t even eating almond flour and my oxalates were high because I was having some dark chocolate keto, chow fudge, that’s all it took. I think too many people out there aren’t doing their bloodwork. They’re not to get him checked out like you do to try to figure out what’s going on. They’re taking a dart and throwing it out a board with a blindfold on.
Another problem with carbohydrates is you’re talking about food addiction. There are some people who are so addicted that they almost have to go carnivore, because just maybe eating a small piece of fruit can cause a frenzy and I know this because this happened to me. Two years ago, I made a fresh fruit salad for dinner with my mom and my husband and 45 minutes later I wanted to eat everything in the kitchen. The way your insulin responds to food you eat the more issues you’re going to have. They always say oh why do we eat Chinese food in them? We’re hungry at our later it’s because our insulin has gone up so fast and then dropped. That’s where you get your. Leptin grehlin signaling that goes haywire. You can’t be hungry. You know you’re not hungry you just ate a plate full of Chinese food. It’s not about the food it’s about the insulin.
I had questions and thought carnivore would be a great choice. But, I’m 1/2 way thru and I’m thinking I want to hire Jonathan too. 😀. He seems to be better in tune with women’s needs. Honestly, it could be a whole department. And he is sweet. 🙏
It’s very individual..some people thrive on carbs in varying degrees and some people do really bad on carbs...I thrive on both carbs and carnie! I think it also depends on how active you are...For instance I roe on the sea and cycle 26 miles most days...whatever I eat gets burned up real quick! 😊👍🏻
When I am low carb zero carb and I start eating carbs. I pile on the pounds very quickly. We’re talking one whole pant size in a month. I cannot do it. I start feeling sluggish. I start feeling joint pain carbs do not do well for me at all. And I figure why you put your body through that to find out it didn’t work. Carnivore is the standard American diet. Have you looked into heavy metals and other potential toxicity levels? Heavy metals can do all sorts negative things in the body, including messing with thyroid, ferretin, iron, copper, and a ton of other things. Do you currently supplement with any iodine?
If you scroll through her playlists you will see that iodine supplementation caused her issues with what was revealed to be thyroiditis. Caused by or fueled by too much supplemental iodine? It caused her to search further after the initial advice to supplement. Clearly, blanket statements are that, blanket, and Nili had to find what helps her, even if 90% of others fit under the blanket. Her sharing, I think, is to encourage others that also may not fit the "one size fits all" mantra. One size may fit most, but if you are "other" then journey on and network and share as you can to help your fellow traveler. (Thanks, Nili!)
Give carnivore a shot. But I think you may need an edge to be on carnivore comfortably on account of cravings for carbs. I found an edge to make doing the lion diet a piece of cake. And what that edge is, is homemade electrolyte water. I mix 2 tsp of food-grade Epsom Salt and 1 tsp of potassium chloride in a half-gallon jug of water and drink that during the day. That was a game-changer for me and swung the ax on carb cravings.
I have given carnivore a shot. It had some benefits for sure but I'm feeling much better with what I'm doing now. Glad the electrolytes are helping with your lion diet!
While this individual’s assertions may hold some weight, it’s important to recognize that the human body functions optimally without the necessity for exogenous carbohydrate or fiber intake. Introducing fructose into one’s diet can significantly impede various fat burning pathways, potentially resulting in unwanted weight gain. Ailments don’t just pop up one day it takes years of eating things you never should have for things to start popping up. The more simple you keep your diet the more you will be healthy. I’m 66 years old and I wish I knew this 25 years ago. Our brain is so simple that even if it tastes something sweet and it’s artificial it still thinks that it needs to send out insulin even though there’s no glucose.. It’s not confused. My calcium was sky high and I told my doctor not too bad for not having supplements or eating much dairy. And he goes where do you get your calcium. I knew that he would not understand that when you eat the proper human diet you have no need for supplements.
Someone in the carnivore world made a great comparison that really explained why carnivore is the way. They said something to the effect of if one wants to beat a heroin addiction they don't cutback to one hit a day. They abstain completely. The carb/sugar addiction is the same thing. Just quit completely and see everything clear itself up. Kelly Hogan's group chats go in to this every video, and how women need to be 70 / 30 fat to protein to fix all the adrenals and hormones. She's like 14 years in now. Just do it.
If carbs are heroin then newborn nursing babies are heroin addicts. If someone is addicted to sugar then they should do whatever they want to do to control it. I feel happy, healthy and in control of my eating with 100g of carbs... so it doesn't apply to me.
@@IndigoNili After I graduated from keto to carnivore, I had an epiphany... I was literally taking the hardest path possible on my journey by not realizing that carb addiction is real and I was keeping that monkey alive with just those "100 carbs per day". Dropping those last carbs is the key to reaping the all the benefits of the carnivore diet. It gets easy, really easy. I didn't respond to your video to piss on your journey.
I posted in hopes of saving you years of keto non-success. You'll see, I promise.
I am so glad that you found what works well for you! 👏🏼❤️
