Nice video, I enjoyed it.. I would never guessed that the reset circuit was also faulty and holding the board from starting. Excellent trouble shooting👍
Nice work - I remember when you really did not like the Rigol scope.. Seems like it is front and center now. Someday I'll learn some of the advanced stuff on it :P Thanks for the video.
Batteries can outgas so yup that cpu socket could be a victim of the battery. could also be a cpu fitted in the past had corrosion already and it migrated.
I just have your standard UV light eraser… I just cleaned them up, and then put them under the light… I usually let them go at least 20 minutes and if they don’t erase after that, I usually just throw them out

Nice video Good work
Could the eproms you erased have been from a prototype? It would be good to save what you read from them even if they may have been corrupt.
If it was coming up in the mame database someone has already dumped them.
@@silmarian yes, two of them were in mame as a test version or something like that.. don't exactly remember.... and one file came up to nothing

Quick question about those AMP sockets. Can the plastic shell be lifted first, or do you have to desolder them as an assembly?
these type of sockets have to be desoldered before removal. The black tops do not pop off like the old single swipe sockets
@@classicarcaderepairs4818 Thanks!
I'm curious, what method do you use to erase UV EPROMs?
