hi, here in Germany it is totaly safe to drink water right from the tap. And yes, toiletpaper is provided everywhere, but mainly not in a verry good quality. It is allways a whise decidion to have a pack of tissues with you, just in case.
When I was traveling 3 times in China in 2004 to 2006 it seems that the local Chinese didn't have any problem with the tap water but as you know, the Chinese prefer to drink Hot water so boiling helps with bacteria. On the first trip I tried to be careful but I think I ate some "Cherry Tomatos" that may have been washed in tap water and I got sick. I definitely didn't drink any tap water. The next 2 trips I was even more careful, only eating fruit that one has to peel (Oranges, Bananas, etc...) My wife from China didn't have the problem I had when I went on the first trip to meet her in person. She told me you have to be careful with bottled water from small shops because they sometimes rebottle using tap water.
@@JoMoon No problem with Supermarket bottled water but Liqing warned me about some small shops back then. Someone who's not from China does have to worry about eating food washed in Tap Water and not cooked afterward like those tomatos that I ate from the buffet in a very nice new Japanese owned hotel in Shanghai. Otherwise, I don't know what else could have given me that stomach bug back then. When I go again, I won't eat things like Grapes or Cherries, etc....
These things are pretty much common sense in most countries I have been in. We take water for granted in the US but even tap water is safe here I always filter tap water because it tastes better. Of course watch the food you eat and be prepared with toilet paper. Many countries do not provide that. Many countries are not safe for foreigners to be out alone at nite. I love traveling in Asia and I have never had a problem but just be aware. I’ve been to Taiwan and Hong Kong but never mainland China. I really want to visit there. Good video Miss Moon.
Hi Ms Moon, *Here in Sweden it's fine to drink the tapwater. *Usually puplic restrooms have tp. *Regarding alcohol an tobacco; first you need to be at the age of 20 to be aloud to buy alcohol in a shop, and there is only one brand of shops that are aloud to sell alcohol in Sweden, and that brand is called 'SYSTEMBOLAGET' and it's all controlled by the goverment. There is no private enterprise that are aloud to sell alcohol in Sweden, only SYSTEMBOLAGET, exept licenced bars and restaurants, but then you need to be atleast at 18 years of age to be aloud to drink in a pub/bar or a restaurant. *Regarding tobacco, it can be bougth almost anywhere, but you need to be atleast 18 years of age to buy, according to the law. *Antibiotics is bought only trough a prescription from a doctor.
Most tap water in the US is fine to drink, but some places may taste a bit different. All public toilets have tp, but some areas you may go in the toilet and find the dispenser is empty. I’ll be a true friend and share tp in you need to ‘release yourself”. I always keep baby wipes with me just in case. Supermarkets and convenience stores generally cigs, beer/wine, but not hard liquor. Antibiotics and most drugs require a prescription. It’s job security for cute pharmacists. By the way, most Pharmacists make between 125-160k US dollars per year. Clinical pharmDs in hospitals make well above that. Many drug stores like CVS/Walgreens have a minor emergency clinic on site that are staffed with medical professionals. They can diagnose minor things like flu, respiratory infections & strep. There’re really trying to prevent unnecessary antibiotic use because the on-going problem with antibiotic resistance because they’re used unnecessarily like in common colds.
Hallo JoJo, i see you are healthy and in a good mood 🙂 In Germany you will find toilet paper, but i saw in China they are clean it with water. I like this more. ☺ You mean the beer brand "Tschingtao" it's german and i heard there a a lot a good seafood. Cigarettes are very expensive in Germany, but I don't smoke. A pack of 30 cigarettes over 10 euros. You can buy alcohol and cigarettes in every supermarket. Oh, and the water issue, you can drink water on the tap here, no problems. Thank you for sharing your video with us. You make a good work. Take care, your friend from Germany.
Good morning Jo. yes, getting caught short without toilet paper could be really embarrassing. Is it true that when using the tp, you don't flush it, you put it in a wastebasket? Also, how about the difference in bathroom plumbing like the actual toilet. bathrooms in the US do provide Toilet Paper and for the most part, you can buy alcohol and cigarettes in grocery stores (depending on the state laws). Water is safe in the US, although in some areas, the taste can be somewhat unpleasant. Seems that these days everyone is allergic to some kind of food, it makes eating difficult...except for those of us who really don't care...lol
We in the US have always had to have a doctor’s prescription to buy antibiotics for humans And as of June 11, 2023 farmers have to have a veterinarian prescription to get antibiotics for their animals too The veterinarians love it money money money! Good video Jo thanks
Actually you had better not drink water directly from the tap in any place because the water pipe is really dirty. In most countries the water pipe would serve for more than ten year without repairing or cleaning. You can just imagine how many bacteria are living in it.
Toiletpaper and chinese loos - sigh :-) . You have to know that you are usually NOT allowed to throw toilet paper in the toilet(s)! For the used paper are there buckets with lids! WHY??? The diameter of the tubings are usually no more than 80 mm - e.g. in Germany it is 100 mm). Therefore the most hotel toilets clog up if you use toilet paper, like in Germany! (By the way the same problem also occurs in Crete!)
Hi Jo, I pressed "dislike" on this video, but it did not show. Also my comment "Hi Jo, what do you mean PRC is safe? If you criticize the supreme leader xi jing ping, if you advocate for freedom and democracy, if you talk about the Tian An Men massacre perpetrated by the communist party of China on June 4th 1989, you will likely be imprisoned or worse. Any foreigners (and every Chinese Citizen as well) can be arbitrarily detained anytime. I would not say that this is "feeling safe". Do not you agree?" it did not show as user. Isn't that strange?
Wow! Are you serious about the restroom doesn't have toilet paper in China! That doesn't sound good for Americans to use the restrooms often lol. Looks like we learn something new every day! By the way, I love your new hair style! You should keep it like this! I'm just kidding lol. You should keep your hair style however you want!
Hey Jo, I always love seeing you! Thanks for the new video, Peace
Thank you for this knowledge. Did I detect a smile Jo? 😉
Finally heading back to China in August! I'm so excited
Hi Jo! Thanks for the video.!😊

The first thing I did when I was in Shenzhen was go to Walmart and bought toilet paper to carry in my back pack. Great video Jo.

Welcome back Ken❤️
in California, TP is accessible in public restrooms. you can drink from the tap but would rather drink bottled or purified water.

@@JoMoonlol yeah I’m on the lookout for a single lady vet!
😂
you can add a filter and then drink it from the tap.
Do you have a patron? I’m trying to find it because I want to subscribe.
It's ok if you boil it

Hi Jo. Why don't you live in China? Also is it easy to get a work visa if you are an American?
Hey, I think it is relatively easier yes.
