    Always appreciate your honesty, Brad. I have faith in you, and so do a lot of your fans. I heard a few words of wisdom a while back from a great coach who said “when you feel like you’re in a slump, not getting any better, etc., just relax and enjoy the game for a while.” You’ll win a PBA title before you know it.

    With you being in Milwaukee there are two deserts to try: one is called custard the other is called a Kringle. Custard is a creamer ice cream. Two places to get this desert is Culver's and the other is called Kopps. You can purchase krinkles at Sendicks grocery store and some bakeries.A krinkle is a cross between a Danish and a coffee cake. If you like eating at dives, try a place called Jimmy's Gotto in Waukesha Wisconsin.

This slump I'm in has been the worst of my life. Like 3 months long. It's came directly after I shot the game and series of my life and then the following week I struggled to break 100 game and 400 series. It's been bad ever since. Next week I start my tournaments and hope that taking a week of here will help me get back my game a bit.

Or...Have a 190 average or better in a PBA experience league or sanctioned USBC sport bowling league, with at least 36 games bowled. Once you do any of those you can pay your fees to turn pro and bowl in PBA regional events and also the PTQ qualifying events each week. I have always wondered how receiving bowling balls from your sponsors works. I see every tournament bowlers getting dozens of balls. They walk into this trailer just full of balls and they walk in and pick what they want. How can someone afford this? I understand each bowler will have a different level of sponsorship based on their performance or popularity, but are pro's really getting dozens and dozens of free bowling balls every show? Is it something like, for this calendar year you are allowed 50 bowling balls and once you hit your cap you have to pay for balls moving forward. It honestly just looks like a free for all with equipment.

    • @matttf2538
      @matttf2538 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes they get free balls whenever they want. And it is a big advantage compared to guys not getting sponsored. A new ball gets more pin action compared to an older ball for example. That is why they switch new balls pretty much every day. Friday I bought literally the last Altered reality 16 pound ball out there and a Gem. Threw two 300s. I have always said the guys you see on TV are better than most.......mainly for their ability to adjust to different lane conditions. But getting new balls everyday is a HUGE advantage. I would say a house shot 220 bowler would easily add 10 pins a game in average if he could get a new ball every day.

    • @apolaconeagleeye8571
      @apolaconeagleeye8571 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not to be negative but it's the reality of the game now. The Ball companies take care of their pros and the Pros keep pushing the product. What do they care, they are constantly replenished with fresh balls, and we league bowlers supply the profits.

    • @matttf2538
      @matttf2538 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@apolaconeagleeye8571 Exactly it. And I don't begrudge the top pros who do get sponsored free balls because lets face it....bowling is one of the lowest paying sports out there. They get paid peanuts compared to golf or even darts believe it or not. It is all about sponsorship and paying customers. And sponsors don't want to pay too much for a sport that while it has devoted fans....does not have tons of them who watch on TV even though bowling is one of the bigger participant sports in the USA.
      Plus the amount of paying customers who watch live events at the venue is tiny. How many people can fit into a bowling alley to watch a finals day compared to an average PGA golf tourney? Night and day. That is why a golfer like Wesley Bryan can finish 14th in a second rate PGA event and get paid $225 K while a pro can win a PBA event and only get $20 K.

    • @matttf2538
      @matttf2538 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also some pros sell the balls they get for free to the public when they are done using them. Which is usually only after 5-10 games. Again I don't have an issue with that as the money on the PBA tour is so little.

    Brad....I am a 225-230 avg bowler in various leagues and tourney's and have bowled some PBA regional events. I really like your channel. I know you have been struggling and while I am in no position to offer advice....I still am going to. :). I know as a right hander that many of us gravitate left as the lanes transition...yourself included.
    But one thing I have really noticed about you is as soon as you move to around the 25 board and left of that? Your game falls apart. You start getting way off balance and trying to spin the ball in a way that you are just not comfortable with. It is very obvious. Kyle is the opposite. What you are comfortable with is staying right and being accurate. I would think about staying right no matter the lane conditions and changing balls, hand positions, and ball surface as the lanes change. But always try to stay either at or right of center.
    I also think trying to get less rotation on the ball and increasing your ball speed at the same time will help. It seems that as the years have gone on you have tried to throw it more and more like Kyle and again....that really isn't your thing. Try becoming very very good at one style instead of average at many. Hope things get better for you.

      @matttf2538 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Gavsy1874 Not sure why that is hard to believe? Been bowling for 25 years and won many state tournaments as a kid. As I said I am a PBA pro and have bowled in many PBA regionals and in Vegas and Reno for tourney's many times including almost all of CA. Threw a 789 last Sunday and had 2 300 games Friday night in a local tournament I was in. Only a 792 series though as my last game I struggled. Averaging 225-230 on a house shot or even a moderate sports shot is better than most but guys like Kyle and Brad would do the same and probably much better. There are lots of very good bowlers out there. The thing that separates guys like Kyle and other top pros from lower pros or great league bowlers is their ability to adjust and bowl well on any lane condition.

    Brad, down and in has won more money, than hooking the gutter ever did, ie: Norm & Walter.
    You have that shot....

      I agree that is the shot Brad should stick with. He is pretty accurate when he stays right of board 25 or so. He is going to have to increase his ball speed to do that however especially when the lanes transition. Might be time to hit the gym and add on 10 pounds of muscle if he can.

      @@guesswho9742 Agree and that is what I think Brad should do. I see he bowled better later today. I wonder what shot he was using and if he read these comments before.

      @@matttf2538 I am from the KC area and was a member of the traveling scrach leauge back in the 70's. Those of us who tore the cover off the ball every shot, did make an emprissive ten in the pit, I avg 7 strikes a game in those days, but my avg over all never went over 210. The big avg's were the down and in guys who used the Black Beauty or Hammer with surface. It boils down to using you talent corectly.

    Hey Brad I saw you got a little help from Bill Spigner this morning! What a great block of +225 after that. Keep it up...you are putting yourself right back into contention. Rooting for you as always! 👏🏼🎳👏🏼
