I don't say this lightly, but I feel Mercedes really cheapened the interior of this vehicle in the name of technology. While there of course many high-end materials within the cabin of this vehicle, there is a level of craftsmanship that I feel is lacking here. The Last gen just looks so much more elegant in my opinion.
It was more elegant due to the lack of a big screen in the center of the cockpit but besides that its high-end throughout the whole cabin. From the doors to the seats, everything is perfect.
I thought I was the only one . Don’t get wrong I still love it but I felt that they balanced it out with the predecessor than the new model especially on the interior . The exterior is phenomenal

Yep, the S580 is actually a fantastic car.. But Maybach line should be different with a different steering wheel and use the GLE/GLS infotainment with better materials. Add another $50k to the price at that point. The exterior of this is amazing , but smaller infotainment and better fit and finsh + different steering wheel and this is a home run.
Yes this car is not bad, but I don't like Mercedes in general because these cars are completely overrated. The advertising slogan "The best or nothing" has long ceased to apply to Mercedes, especially when it comes to quality and reliability. Many electronics deficiencies make these cars very unreliable for this price range. Let's take a look at LEXUS and that's where Mercedes Maybach found its master in matters of reliability. I mean, we're talking about a car that costs almost 230k and that's far from the end of the flagpole, you can easily invest 300k. I'm really excited about the successor to the Lexus LS when it comes onto the market in 2023/24 then the cards will be reshuffled again. Achat I have a big test request for you and I would like a test of the new Volvo S90 t8 recharge model 2022 with 455ps as an inscription model or as an R design. This car has been fundamentally revised and is now even quieter and has a new battery with a more all-electric range of 87km.
The wheels are the definition of Gangsta
Now this is pure elegance!

It needs an exclusive steering wheel, trim finish and different interior colors !

@@adhx7506 It’s not though, there is notable cost cutting in quality of materials and fit and finish

I can't see why Mercedes can't atleast give this flagship a unique steering wheel. How much extra would that cost.
Lazy cost cutting.

with $200k, you bought all the piano black that can possibly be put in a car interior .
Have a good day friend.
There should not be an S580 offered Maybach, it cheapens the name, although it means little now. Only a V12 should be offered

This cabin will age terribly. The acres of black plastics on a 200k vehicle, why?
Its not plastic. It's lacquered wood. But it does scratch easily
