Whoever owns the master recordings to The Sylvers Pride/MGM recordings needs to get them remastered and reissued. Ray Parker Jr & Debarge had their back catalogue re-released on the back of their UnSung episodes. It's their time.

If anyone is familiar with the "Bandstand" set used from September of 1974 through August of 1978, they should notice from this clip that the black stage prop (to the right of the word SOUL) was featured on that set. Rest in peace Dick Clark, Don Cornelius, and Buster Jones.

What a fool their dad was. Gosh this was in 1973 l was 15 years old. I have a few of their albums. I never threw away anything I have a lot of 45s and albums from the 1970's. Leon is a very gifted and deep individual, his songwriting reflects this. He is also a beast on the bass guitar, highly underrated! Bad management, and all that comes with that is the reason the Sylvers were not a more prominent group during the 70's to mid 80's

Dick Clark created the show hoping that Soul Train would lose viewers and get canceled. Like you said, it didn't work. It's obvious that Dick wanted no competition.

Blaster was the same as "Soundwave", the Decepticons' Counter Intelligence who was a Tape Recorder who could launch small robots out his chest in the form of Audio Cassettes. Blaster, who was a Boom Box Radio, could do the same thing.

Dick Clark decided to cease production of Soul Unlimited because he respected Don Cornelius and didn't want to compete with him.
