As someone who's half Colombian and half Filipino, and has had the privilege of living in both Medellin for 3 years and now in Manila (BGC) for the past 6 months, I have to say that your comparison is spot on. Great job on the video, man! This will be super informative for the masses for sure. Keep up the awesome content!

I want to visit Colombia and see if there is a business opportunity with the Philippines. What goods or services can we trade? Philippine peso is the most stable in Asia, like a rock. My Spanish isn't bad, I should be fully conversational on a 3 month tourist visa.

I lived in Manila for almost all of my life before moving to the US - I can say your pros/cons about the Philippines is really spot on!! The traffic is getting worse every year, and the internet is still really slow when I visited for a few months last year. I just mainly missed connecting with old friends, and speaking Tagalog when going out on dates lol.

@MonkeyDluffy08109 it doesn't matter, latinas are mostly mestizo, aka half or more have 50% or more native American blood, and Filipinos besides those with Chinese blood look the same as native American or Mexican or Colombians who look more native American. I was just in Philippines last month, and lots of the bar girls didn't look asian but more like Mexican or Colombian morena girls(black hair, almond native American eyes, brown or tan skin), I would say 60% looked like this. The rest looked more chinita like they say in Philippines, aka more Chinese. This alone with the fact they mostly have Spanish names, count numbers like money in Manila in Spanish, and Catholic definitely felt similar to latin America in Philippines. So Philippines is similar to latin America not because of the Spanish but the native Americans the Spanish brought aka the Aztecs who were brought as slaves and soliders for 300 yrs during Acapulco Manila trade, also most Filipinos have over 1% or more native American blood in DNA tests, due to the Aztecs and Mayans brought by Spanish, over 500k to 1million, as result in Philippines you see corn drinks in Manila like maiz con yelo ,a Mexican Aztec atole corn drink, and Filipinos say Nanay for mother and Tatay for father, from Aztec nahuatl words Nana and Tata, a real influence from the 300 yr Acapulco manila trade. So no matter what your opinion is, Philippines indeed is similar to Mexico and Colombia. Alot look similar, look at TH-camr La Karencita who did video with Wes,she's Mexican but looks Filipino, definitely, alot latinas look like this. I also saw alot Filipinos who looked mestizo aka like Latinos in Manila in general, I have a Mexican friend and ppl would speak Tagalog to him ,they thought he was Filipino. It was funny actually, ppl even foreigners would ask him for directions. It's real, Latinos and Filipinos definitely are definitely more similar than any other ppl in the world to be honest. If you go to theiland or china you won't see any of the things I mentioned or witnessed, and this is coming from someone who has travelled to Mexico, Colombia and Philippines.

Also, you forgot to compare which one has better business districts? in terms of skyscrapers, skyline, modernity. Even the Metro wages comparison of a blue-collar job and an office worker. Even the prices or tickets of BRTs or MRTs. Or commuting options. Anyway, here are the rates: MRT tickets in Metro Manila start at Php15, the farthest station at Php33 (below $1), almost the same price for the BRT tickets (EDSA Carousel), City Ferry here in Manila is FREE crossing Pasig River. More than the food in your video, this would matter as well to a tourist in both countries how affordable or expensive to move around. thank you

While i haven't visited Colombia, i have been to the Philippines, DR, and Paraguay. I loved Davao City when i visited and considered living there. The thing that turned me off about the Philippines is that foreigners can't own land, businesses outright, and at best, you get a residency permit. Even with the condo ownership that's allowed, it's still some restrictions to that. Also , I was able to speak Spanish, which allows me to see different sides of a country.

I'm not convinced about the INFRASTRUCTURE comparison... How many MRT Metro railway lines does Bogota have? I guess just 1. Metro Manila has LRT 1, 2, MRT 3, 7, the incoming Metro Manila Full Subway, Makati Subway, and LRT 1A Manila to Cavite, not to include the existing commuter railway PNR Lines inside Metro Manila and the incoming PNR Manila to Clark. How many elevated tollways are inside Bogota? I guess there is none? Metro Manila has 3 elevated tollways inside Skyways 1, 2, and 3 with a total of 40 km elevated tollways plus the incoming extension all the way to the new airport in Bulacan, not to include the 2 ground tollways entry point to Metro Manila the NLEX and SLEX tollways. Re TRAFFIC here, I'll tell you the real reason why. You need to understand that Metro Manila has a population of 14.4 Million, it is like double the size of Metro Bogota, and in a day-to-day scenario another 6 Million people from suburbs of Metro Manila are working and going inside the Metro, therefore you have a huge number of commuters and vehicles coming in and out to the Metro. I don't think any megacities in the world would have this problem with that 8 - 10 Million moving commuters a day in a not-so-huge land area of Metro Manila....

I’m Japanese who lived in Manila 6 months to learn English and have now been living in Colombia for 2 years. I agree with you and most people on the comment section that Colombia is overall the better country with good infrastructure and health care, it’s surprisingly clean too! The people are the best!! Both countries are very unsafe and Philippines is incredibly under developed even compared to LATAM countries. I wouldn’t want to live there again… Voy a Manizales pronto!!

One major thing you need to consider regarding the women is that even if Columbian women are more beautiful, they're much more feminist and therefore only open to small age gaps, that's why it can seem great for guys in their 20s or early 30s, but for guys in their late 30s or early 40s, they could get a Philipina who's only 21 so even if she's not quite as stunning be some traditional standards, her being young, innoncent, not a raging feminist and capable of a stable relationship, that would make her much more attractive to many men!!!

@@WheresWes yes bingo, Philippines was cheaper and ppl friendlier, but Colombia ppl are more party vibe and fun, it really is tough Wes, I can't decide which I like more since I felt overall both are just as good, Colombia only has the more fun vibe and closer destination as advantages, Philippines wins in value, but then again sometimes value isn't everything,so Colombia can be worth the security risks and slightly higher prices
