    Hey guys my bad I said CP4 but RAM is still running a CP3 👍🏾

      Dual alternators are 440 “amps”

    I ordered a 24 2500 rebel in February and the MSRP was $90,000 by the time it was built a month later the sticker price was $81,000. I qualified for a 10% cashback incentive and I ended up paying about $73,000. 😊

      Being happy about paying $73,000 for a truck is questionable.

    I’m glad you know the H.O. with 4.10s gets larger rear brakes. Most don’t know that.

    A new transmission isn't a reason to wait for 2025, IMO. That said, discounts aren't enough for me to jump on a 2024. At the moment, there's really nothing worth my time with Ram.

  • @hellkitty1014

    I'm a huge Ram fanboy admittedly, but I never understood them moving prices way past GM and matching Ford, who all offered vastly updated truck. They kinda shot themselves in the foot because they outpriced themselves realistically out of the market. We truck guys take that purchase very seriously, so obviously buyers were gonna go cold on Ram, despite the 3500 H.O. being a true towing beast.
    I'd be curious to see how this new pricing strategy pans out for them. I think the 24s will have sizeable incentives because just as Ram lowered pricing, the over truck market is cooling very fast. Trucks that were virtually bought at MSRP last year now have discounts.
    If Ram can somehow do a generous update(yes, we all want new cabs, but Ram will likely retain it for the next few years) yet hold price increases nominally, they may get back deep into the swing of things.

      The previous CEO of Stellantis North America was using the American market cars to pay for the euro market along with the merger fees. Thus, the crazy price raises out of nowhere. He got fired, and now the new guys are bringing the prices to a more "realistic" level

    I noticed, same truck I priced out 2 months ago is now 15k cheaper

  • @MrMagoo321
    @MrMagoo321 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Y'all are forgetting they jacked the price way up over the chip shortage and now that it's over they're taking away a couple bucks and people think 75-90k for a new truck is worth it. What's going to happen when you spend all your homes equity and you only make 60k a year? The resale value on those isn't even close to what you paid. Maybe 40-50 k at best. So throw away roughly 30k? This is a sales pitch the word is that these companies are choking because they can't sell them!

    • @brianconner4854
      @brianconner4854 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you make 60k a year these trucks are not for you. When you make 250-300 it isn’t such a big deal losing 30k over some time when you’re working the truck and making 30- or so a month clear. If you make 60k a year , you can afford A 10k truck. And pay cash for it. Sorry. That’s what it is.

    I wish they had lower the price before I traded my 2022 Laramie I was having a lot of problems with it and parts was almost 2 years out but the one thing that send me to another manufactory was they told me that my bell housing was leaking oil and all they would do is to watch it. At little over 22,000 miles on it I didn't want them to tell me that they couldn't fix it because it was out of warranty and aside from the part that they was supposed to get, so I left, I loved all of my Ram trucks but it was time for me to move on and I'm happy, will I ever go back, well time will tell.

  • @greeneviewfarm20
    @greeneviewfarm20 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Not an apples to apples comparison but I have had two Cummins my last was a 2019. Loved the truck, cashed out at the top of the Covid market, paid 49.5 traded it for 56 two years later it was used when I bought it. Just bought a 2024 Tradesman Crew 6.4 hemi with 10k dollars in options for 14k under sticker, 62k on the window OTD @ 48.9 plus tax and tags. Does the ford have more power, sure. If you’re keeping it forever is the aluminum nice, sure. But neither of those two things are 12-14k worth it nicer. Ram may not be the perfect truck but for a well optioned current model year heavy duty truck for under 50k I could care less.

    Alot of the new cummins are really having an oil consumption problem. Just worked on a 23 today that was 6 its low on oil. We last checked the oil 2k miles ago.

      We've been using Amsoil OE 10w30 ADN diesel oil and oil consumption has been cut down significantly
      But been thinking of getting rid of the ram cummins and going with 2025 ford 6.7 HO powerstroke F450s

    In my opinion the Laramie and up should come standard with things like bed lights, LED lighting and the full digital gauge cluster. That gauge cluster has been standard since 2012 and it's just dated.

    2:00 you prefer the durability of a solid axle? What have you broke on an IFS ? We have 13 GM ifs trucks at the Hwy dept I’m the mechanic at, zero issues,and these trucks plow and get run hard every day, not a single issue,not even a bad ball joint,nothing in the 150-200k miles we put on them before they are rust out. Similar solid axle trucks included my personal f350 have the entire front end rebuilt,my 11 f350 has had all 4 ball joints and u joints replaced along w steering stabilizer and tie rods. So tired of ppl judging IFS by the morons that level them and put 14wides on them and break a cv joint pulling on blacktop, you caused your own problems, these ifs are plenty strong especially from 2011 to current.

    My 2018 ram… Laramie, pearl paint, ho Cummins, aisin, air bags, 5th wheel, bed liner,…. Everything besides the dual alternators…. 73k. Down to 61k with 68k otd with taxes and licensing. How tf are prices this much higher? How are people affording these?

    • @Rommer2258
      @Rommer2258 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The US dollar had also lost 30% of its value since then aswell. I paid 40k otd for my power wagon in late 2017 as well. They are coming back to earth, but the inflation is here to stay, unfortunately

      A lot of people don't afford them. Repos are at an all time high nowadays. I will keep my 2015 Chevy 2500 HD LTZ for many more years. Oh and mine is a gasser but it is paid off. Can't imagine a truck payment being up there with my mortgage payment.

      @Rommer2258 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @allenellzey5735 that's how I am with my truck, I want a dually diesel, but since I'm not trading in my old truck the payment would be in the low 1500s a month which is crazy.

      These trucks are for contractors that make great money. Self employed guys making 250 on up. Not for a guy making 70-80 a year. Not being bad that’s just the truth.

    Ram needs to keep the price the same. They need:
    Add back fender flares for Laramie and above
    Add power tilt telescoping steering wheel
    8spd transmission
    More power for 6.4
    Same cab as 1500 series
    Possibly others

    64k base price is still way to high. These guys are out of touch with the current economy and customer finance, completely out of touch. When they build a half ton with mechanical windows and locks, manual transmission, rubber floor mats and a bench, vinyl seat, and get the base price under 20K, maybe we can talk.

    • @jarrsong
      @jarrsong 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Avoid them because they are cheap garbage (not price) now from a terrible company. The Cummins has been also cheapened out in the last 15 years with thinner castings and terrible reliability. Power and drivability is shit with a box truck transmission. I was a ram fan for a decade in the late 90’s early 2000’s. Engines haven’t been worth a hoot since then. Emissions issues, electrical issues, trans issues, frame issues… It’s not smart investing $80K+ on a truck that you will be lucky if the MFG exist in 7 years.

    Wow! One needs to give up their first born to purchase these trucks. Way over priced for any truck. Plus the spring rating is way out of wake by normal standards. Ya can’t haul or pull what weight Chrysler says. To many cracked frames in the 2500-3500 series. Got pictures! Plus no bed liner only an option. At this cost that and bed lights should be included. Ram cheap holding out.
