Could be that, but don't idols often have a no touching policy? (obviously idols may even hug fans or something, but still, just saying) I mean they are still only teenagers, hugely successful, meaning a shit ton of fans and crazy people, while being underage and away from their legal guardians, under the protection of the company and such... (plus It has to be said,they are adorable and gorgeous, so you know... there are bad people....)

One thing I don't like about them is that ..... they don't represent KAMI BAND on the Red carpet. Kami band should have the same attention , respect , and fame... after all they came this far with their help.... but that doesn't mean that I don't like Babymetal.....
japanese aren't as petty as Americans are, or other countries tend to be. I know it may be hard to believe, but their priority's are what's best for business. They want the success of the band as a whole to be as great as it can be, and they will do whatever they can to make that happen. This may be a hard concept for you because you are probably not from Japan. but, there they do not tend to be so selfish, or self centered. They work together as a whole, and try to further themselves as a whole in mind. They won't limit their greatness for the sake of one of them being able to say "LOOK AT ME! I'M THE DRUMMER! :D" This is simply the way it is.
Because people want to speak with, and see baby metal. Not the Kami band. This is how it's always been, is there even a single band in america even where on the red carpet people want to see the whole band more then the singer? I know it doesn't seem fair, but that is just how it works. The whole band is part of something amazing. I beleive they are very happy. Besides, the get tons of attention too! They get interviews all the time, and are part of allot of photoshoots. They get attention, and praise from all the other bands themselves! Baby metal also compliments them. A good singer alone gets all the attention. but Su is a great singer, dancer, and is ridiculously cute. It also has to do with marketing. these things cost money you know, and they are not worried about the spotlight if its going to cost them. Time is precious, and it is money. these girls are doing this for many reasons and money is one of them. in fact, I'd go as far to say allot of what they say isn't even true. Like, loving Metallica ect. Doesn't seem like they really do. But who knows :) That's the wonder of it all, we just don't really know for sure. It could all be a marketing plot. Say you love all the most famous rock stars in america, so then everything accepts you. The Japanese are smart man, VERY smart. And they do what needs to be done. Now I'm only assuming this could be a possibility. I'm not saying it is all a lie, but it is possible. Such petty, and meaningless things as "We didn't get our picture taken QQ" isn't even a thought in their heads haha.

The Kami band value their semi independence and utilize it, like when Boh had another bass player fill in for him recently on a Babymetal leg of a tour because Boh's main project band had a very important gig that night and Boh wished to be there instead. And in no way did the bosses mind! Can you imagine how selfish USA corporate bosses would have reacted?! The guitarists do it all the time. The other day I was watching a Babymetal vid and lo and behold it was a different guitar player, on the right side I think. I never noticed it before. I looked on Wiki and they have several guitar players listed. That said, I have to learn a new fandom of not requiring strict rules now, like be accepting on how others do things and quit putting my own personal slant on it, a really really bad USA trait I am determined to mature and grow up out of. Further I seriously doubt the Kami band want to pay for the travel and two to three days the girls invest in this going to another country to another country just to show the colors, definitely unfun, not performing or anything other than, yes it is important, showing the standard. From a security standpoint I can't even imagine the difficulty of protecting securing 7 people, a distraction from the girls who it is beyond important to secure. The logistics of so many people would be a nightmare, and as a guitar player myself I doubt the Kami band could bring their instruments- can you imagine the Kami band doing without their beloved guitars and drums for the days required if they did go on promotion tours!? Once again I imagine the Kami band would have to leave their instruments behind, the drums for instance would need a drumtech and, well I think you see my point. And when they get there who are going to get most if not all the attention and interviews? Does the Kami band want to learn English too?! I seriously doubt it, the poor girls are painstakingly having to learn English, I doubt they could pay the Kami band enough to do so as well. Plus it would be beyond embarrassing if they upstaged the girls too, a big awkward embarrassing loser mess either way. The other commenter was nicely trying to tell you such an attitude, wanting to be a "gloryhound" is alien, petty and rank to Japanese culture. The Japanese actually have a culture and will act in appropriate and sophisticated way as refined by their "everyone works together and shares the glory" upbringing. Su, Moa and Yui are not millionaires either, though I think they should be. I brought this up and was immediately corrected by Sakura Gakuin insider who mentioned more needed funds were making it to the Sakura Gakuin school, and the girls in Babymetal I am sure would be the first to speak in approval of that use of funds that the girls, of anyone, are the most instrumental in raising the earnings. They are the ones I mostly watch and the performance is meant to be that way. The Kami band would be utterly befuddled by such a value less meritless notion that sounds PC but upon inspection stinks to high heaven, anymore than the Kami band taking center stage and having the girls dance out of the way on the sides or something for the whole performance. BTW, many x many bands and ensembles usually chose a spokesperson to speak for them and being such entails hard work, footwork and time promoting their thing. Many bands starting out can only afford to send one or few anyway, and being an retired promoter and manager the various bands I have worked with all have said is definitely the worse job in a band but they laugh and usually have the lead singer do it!

Boh's band usually has various gigs and the rest are working musicians who really are busy since very familiar to people now. No way could they take so much time flying halfway around the world, hotels ugh. Therefore the girls have to "show their flag." But here I imagine, being the band responsible for all their instruments etcetera they had better more productive things to accomplish before playing. But usually public appearance, while fun probably, gotta be unpleasant to fly 20-30 hours to strange place, hotels etcetera for 45 minute presentation and worse one later in the evening which means flying back at night or another night in hotel. A thankless thing but is done by our brave metal warriors!
