Great video,I'm so glad I found your channel Edgar. I noticed B'kara was spelled with a ch ,I also noticed that Hal Lija use to be called San Salvatore. I must keep an eye for future productions by you. John Demicoli - Sydney Australia.
A wonderful insight into the history and geography of this little-known and short-lived railway. What a shame that even a short section was not preserved as a tourist attraction, but tourism as we know it today would be virtually unknown in Malta in 1931.
Thanks for your nice comments John ...actually San Salvatore is at Attard, close to the Mental Hospital ...it was the next stop after the Attard station for staff and visitors who worked or visited patients at the Hospital. best regards ..Edgar
@TJM01FUL Mrs Dingli Murch, I can't agree with you more! However, as much as I love trains, it must be said that the Malta Railway did generate its share of pollution in its time. It's really a pity that not one single locomotive has been preserved for posterity and, were it not for a handful of enthusiastic railway fans, this interesting period of the local transport history would have been completely forgotten. Thanks for your comment ...best regards ...Edgar
We now have a modern map, your great video, another video, lots if photos and a movie of some of the route from a taken from a model helicopter. Combined the railway comes alive.
I wish it was running still, less cars on the roads and there would be no need for Arriva buses.Less pollution, less asthmatics and leaving the other modes of transport behind as it is faster than any of them.Hope it will come!....Regards to all who would love to it come back ...Marthese Dingli Murch
Mrs. Murch, Do you really think that the train system alone could handle today's huge volume of commuters?? Come on let's be realistic. We do not only have Arriva to take us places, but e-cabs and dial-a-cab as well to join the fleet! It's true that its a great pity that no remnants have been preserved for us to enjoy.

Look at the beauty that was. Now we are changing all that into a Pharoh's Egyptian entrance and an open theatre arena.
