    I love her. Some people think she can seem a little harsh or blunt but really she’s just to the point (no bs) to try and get in as much teachings as possible in the limited time she has in these things, I really respect her in that way. Out of all the Buddhist monks and nuns she delivers the material and teachings in a way that’s really practical. Thank you for this video!

    Keep saying it: wonderful teacher. And as a bonus: no bs, practical, down to earth. Hope she lives long and keeps on teaching.

    This is a rational presentation of Buddha's teachings. As a Muslim, when I first learned about Buddha, I was fascinated by how a regular human being, not a prophet, could attain such a profound level of wisdom and connection with God. Buddha's teachings align closely with the messages conveyed by God through His messengers, including Ibrahim, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad. This realization serves as evidence to me that God is accessible to anyone who seeks Him; there is no need for any special status. However, this understanding often gets distorted by the general public. For instance, many fail to grasp the true essence of Jesus' teachings, leading them to perceive him as the son of God or even as God Himself. Similarly, I have observed that numerous Buddhists lack knowledge about Buddha's life, teachings, and philosophy, yet they regard him as a deity and Buddhism as a religion.

    Although I don't belive in reincarnation, past or future lifes as for me it makes more sense a different vision of other Buddhist teachers on what Buddha said on this matter, I am deeply grateful for ven Robina helping us understand better the teachings of the Buddha and making it easy to apply them in our everyday life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!🧡🙏🏻

    I really wish there was more integration of the Buddhist mindfulness with the teachings of Christianity. Having mindfulness in context of the word of (and obedience to) God really unlocks reality and brings a lasting peace.

    I heard Ven. Robina not long ago on the BSWA channel. I then found other talks by her (even some recordings from a whole weekend in some other centers, 2,3,4 hours sessions). Every time I understand better and makes more sense. I feel as if I'm getting to know her better every time, even though some of the examples, stories are the same. But the basis of the teaching and her message is the same, and is is very powerful, down to earth, direct, and simple.
    A marvelous teacher that gives you the information/lecture and wants you to do the hard work and the thinking.

    Absolutely 🌟❤️🌟✌️ never give up! So true 😋🙏 Thankyou for sharing your thoughts with us all... truly helps so many folk.. I had to laugh when people were afraid to ask questions 😉 It reminded me of a moment from years ago... I was waiting to see a doctor, the waiting room was full... we all waited for him to arrive patiently .... however!
    Finally... a doctor stormed in thru the room and into his office! 😕🫣 Ohhhh my!
    It was a very abrupt doc and as soon as he closed his door... the whole surgery emptied ...
    People and chairs screeched as there was a rush for the front door lol!!!! It was a miracle how everyone suddenly recovered and no longer needed to visit a doctor LOL!!!
    So funny how we run from folk... obviously we all had issues being challenged 😉😂🤣
    Thanks again... love and hugs always to you, and all who watch... peace to all, may conflicts cease... for ever 🌟❤️🌟🙏 PS so funny ... laughter is the best medicine we have... only side effects when you overdose is a sore belly from chuckling so much 😂🤣😂🤣🥰😋

    • @juliangiulio3147

      It is very logical and transparent :)
      but disagree with her re bad and good things a bit,
      But I think people ARE moved by Kindness, Goodness, etc. We behold and thereby come conscious of the Truer, Human Spirit. Moreover, deep inside ourselves, we have an intuion of Nirvana, or Buddha Nature, we have an intuition that there is something ultimately Good. That's why we want to take up Buddhism, meditation, mindfulness, or whatever the like it is; and at enlightenment we know that life is itself inherently happy, at its essence maybe; and these things are tools that might help realise it
      On the other hand, sure we want a pleasant life and it is natural to choose more agreeable things, but we should question our assumptions like we should do everything. But I suppose she is focusing on that inner 'mosnter' within us, as she refers to it later on.
      But yeah we have a spoiled ego!
      I do agree absolutely that karma is basically about our own seeds every moment! We forge it each moment is a very lively and diret waty to see it! But the only thing we can really control, actually have a choice with, sometimes anyay, for me, is attitude, and that makes a big difference. We can only observe tendencies and reason with them maybe. Repression is no-good, for me, for we repress our own Life-force (-which can alsomgive you cancer! Prob better to be an alive sinner than a dead saint for me; but would like to be alive and a good person, real and pleasant - both and)

    As always, very much enjoyed listening to Robina; she's one feisty nun! However, I was hoping that she would have elaborated a little more on Eva's question, which in all due respect, I think she sort of missed. I believe that Eva was asking, if a human being has a rebirth as a dog, how then does that dog work out his/her karma to work its way back up the Karmic Ladder, so to speak. Is it possible for animals to perform virtuous acts so as to negate their negative Karma and hopefully someday have rebirth again as a human? On an even more dramatic level, how does a cockroach climb up this ladder of karma? I've been practicing Buddhism for several years now, but I still cannot wrap my brain around this idea of karma and rebirth. I am open to intelligent thoughts and answers on this.

    • @davidmassey4179
      @davidmassey4179 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Good point,I think in some ways this is a remnant of what is called speciesism that is within some Buddhist thinking ( I am a Buddhist for 20 years, precepts, vows etc). .it's a misguided position that sees animals as "lower". As a practioner I see karma/vipaka as applying to humans rather than animals. Dogs don't hold thoughts of malice, anger etc so they have no negative karma to work on..I am not so sure we can be reborn as dogs,cats,pigs etc but certainly in lower realms of humanity or hell realms. I don't accept that animals suffering unimaginable cruelty in factory farms and slaughter houses are their for their own Past negative actions. ..

    The dog thing was a good point i thought.
    Dogs need to kill animals to survive. Most animals do.
    I don't think a vegetarian lion would be healthy or go up in the kharmic food chain.
    I do agree with what she says outside of reincarnation and taking responsibility for every event seems solipsistic and very western. Borderline Dennis Reynolds;
    "I. Am. God."

    Karma does not exist. The Buddha was a scientist. He understood that reality is in the moment of now. There is no future. There is no past. Future and past are mind inventions. Therefore, there is no debt to pay and no future to gain. Karma is from old teachings used to control others. Also, beware of a voice that smugly tells you that if you were advanced enough in your meditation exercises then you would have the knowledge they are espousing. This is the human mind historical interpretation of the lotus sutra. The Buddha's teachings are not complicated. Very simple. However, the mind which is the receptacle of the teaching loves to churn. Belief is the strongest force of all. So...one simple left turn in the mind and focus is lost.
    The Buddha's teaching: ALL IS MIND
    This is very simple. Three words.
