Curious if this fits on a Subaru Outback wilderness? Also, do any other companies make a swing away model for max of two bikes? I really am looking a swing out hitch / rack for one bike

Is it possible to detach the rack by removing the "2nd hitch lock" in order to remove to go through a car wash? I am 5'2" 105 lbs. This rack weighs 60 lbs. and is a large diameter so it would be helpful not to have to remove the rack from the base hitch locking location.
Nice video info. But you could also swing it to the passengers position to load the rear bike much easier. That is how I low it then I swing it back to my truck and low the front bike and I'm done. I also done use the cable when driving as stated in the manual that it could scuff up your bike frame when moving around, I just used the cable lock when I need to go to a store or I'm just parked.
Where I see a massive fail in this rack: The large blue 'twist-lever' to allow the rack to pivot sideways out REQUIRES spinning the twist-lever. Why is this an issue? Well, if I have a Jeep/Bronco where the tailgate swings out - I'm going to want to swing the bike rack out of the way EVERY TIME. Especially when there are no bikes. So every time I go grocery shopping, bend down, twist twist twist, swing the rack out - load groceries - swing the rack in, twist twist twist. What a pain in the ass. The 'twist-lever' needs to be a simple quick release type lever (like the others on this rack). So when it's time for groceries, it's pull quick release, swing rack out, load vehicle, swing back, snap into place. - You have to understand, most cyclists bike 4-6 times a week - all summer long. We NEED to leave the rack on. Thus we need the rack to swing out of the way with AND without bikes. So when I go to the mall, when I go to the grocery store, when I go to Home Depot, etc etc - I have super quick easy access to the back of a Jeep/Bronco. - How important is this? I'm actually thinking of passing on a new Bronco because there is no convenient way to mount a bike rack on it. Saris racks made a "Freedom" rack, that was a two-tray spare tire rack. It was the bomb. The rack was integrated with the spare tire hardware AND SWUNG AWAY WITH THE DOOR. Thus a "one step" get the rack out of the way. UNFORTUNATELY - BOTH Jeep and Bronco decided to stick the god dam rear facing camera through the spare tire. Thus making that rack obsolete. Sigh....
We do understand your frustrations, but we are not the maker of the rack, so I do not have good answers as to the design. We would recommend reaching out to Rocky Mounts directly with your concerns and they will gladly speak to you about this!
Hello. The support arms will rotate freely until they are firmly ratcheted down onto the front wheels at which point the arms and bikes are secured and stable. Thanks!
Hello. Correct, the hook on wheel design is not suitable for bikes with front fenders. Consider a swing away hitch accessory that could allow for a greater variety of racks, for example: www.rackattack.com/hitch-bike-racks/yakima-backswing-adapter/ Plus www.rackattack.com/hitch-bike-racks/yakima-onramp-2-inch/ Thanks!
Hello. Front fenders will interfere with the correct placement of the hold-down arm. Consider other racks such as the Thule EasyFold or Yakima OnRamp. Thanks!
Hello. There are other rack design to consider that are suited for bicycles with front fenders, the Yakima OnRamp: www.rackattack.com/hitch-bike-racks/yakima-onramp-2-inch/ and the Thule EasyFold: www.rackattack.com/hitch-bike-racks/thule-easyfold-xt-hitch-bike/ Regarding the backtrack, or back rack, this would require a test fit to confirm, please visit one of our stores: www.rackattack.com/stores/ Thanks!

Hello. Yes, it's possible, however, realignment of the upper and lower member may be more of a challenge than the standard method of removal. Thanks!

Don't buy vehicles with old school swinging tailgate😂
Although the hitch is quite secure, as you showed, it looks like the bike holders flop around when you were loading it.

I need a swing out bike rack, and this is the only one I can find on the market, but I have front fenders on my wheels. I guess I can't use this?

You can get a hitch collar for $15 and you can get the exact hitch point every time 👍
Yes, or use the hitch pin bolt as a feeler: th-cam.com/video/qFdD8jUc41w/w-d-xo.html Thanks for sharing!
Swingarm seems fine. Rack is worthless for a bike with full fenders and racks
USE A TRIPOD! Why do people keep making videos that constantly bounce up and down. Are you trying to give people a seizure?
Bouncy video doesn't cause seizure, but maybe sea sickness. Go watch some flashing lights if you want a seizure.
