Mine was brewing less than the options i pressed, on the caraf. So i ran some vinegar through it and now it doesn't brew through the caraf at all. just very few drops and it stops.. The descale light is now on and won't go off
I know this is 1 year too late, but I find having a small staw cleaner and a toothbrush (for cleaning only!l incredibly helpful! I handle the descaling/deep cleaning of my sisters keurig duo and her ice maker, and both of these tools come in handy for the nooks and crannies. ❤ the toothbrush comes in handy for this exact spot, as gunk splashes back up and can become lodged in the multi hole dispenser for the heated water in the carafe side, as well as loosened mineral deposit particles clogging the mechanism. Regardless of which, a gentle brushing with a soft toothbrush before/during the vinegar run should help! My sister has had hers for well over two years, and this is how we deal with this. It runs great!
Many comments of people having problems after deacaling. It may be because you're supposed to dilute descaling solution with water. That's what it says when using the keurig brand solution. I assume it's the same with vinegar as well or any other solution.
💯...I used str8 up vinegar and it would only run 1 cup (carafe) before it immediately stopped n turned on to heat setting(red light)....had to run water thru repeatedly before it could run properly again. Not doing this(full strength) again
@@christeene8082yeah I use about 1 to 2 cups of vinegar and the rest straight water to a full pot . Then again for the k cup side . I have well water with a filter so I do this about once a month
Thank you for the videos on cleaning the needles and descaling the K-Duo machine. Do you have a video trouble-shooting leaks from the bottom of the K-Duo?
1. Make sure the water reservoir is seated properly in the Keurig base. Remove it and replace it as necessary. 2. Remove, empty water, clean reservoir, and refill. Then place the unit back on base. Turn off and on again. 3. Use filtered or bottled water, not distilled to fill the reservoir. 4. If none of the above options work, you will need to descale your Keurig. 5. Also, make sure that the water reservoir is seated properly in the base
Take off the water reservoir, power it on and hold down the 8 oz button for 5 seconds, it will then dispense water (when the machine is warmed up, takes about 30 sec) and when you hear just air coming out the Add water light will come on, at that point it is emptied of water.
Yes I didn’t give up on this $100 Keurig bc we don’t waste money in this household 😅 So I cleaned needles like from his linked video in one of the comments and repeated cycle like10 x and also took out vinegar and replaced with water. It did get about a good hour soak after the first vinegar cycle too. THEN IT CYCLED AND CYCLED AND FINALLY PUSHED OUT THAT HARD WATER CRUST AND COFFEE GRINDS THAT WERE STUCK!!!! Hallelujah praise Jesus and this video for all the help!!!!
I did that once a couple months ago and it didn't like to brew the straight distilled white vinegar. I have the same unit too. Worked fine after I dumped all the vinegar out and put water in. That being said, now it's cracking and pooping like an old water heater with scale build up. Shame this one is less than 2 years old I think its on its last leg.
I have had two keurigs and currently have this model. The last two models. When I put pure vinegar in it. It starts, but stops! It never starts back up….what am I doing wrong. I’m buying a new keurig every 6-9 months. 😩
Mine is legit doing the same thing.! I got a different brand ice maker from sam's and this keurig there too, and both have stopped within 6 months. At this point idk if I wanna buy any appliance from there
My coffee maker keeps shutting off and won't complete the cycle when I have vinegar in the reservoir. I have to keep turning the cycle back on. Not sure why that happens but it also frequently does this when trying to brew coffee. Seems to be a circuit board issue or something. It's less than two years old.
Is there any way to clean under the K-cup basket when it's out? My mom gave me her coffee pot but didn't keep up with maintenance on it. So I would like to give it a thorough cleaning. Any suggestions? Great video btw, the K-cup side was not working and now it is 😁
Would you happen to know why the kcup side will run water through it but when I put a kcup in it it won’t brew the coffee. I am going to try this and see if that helps
This is the 2nd model like this I have had. First one would not descale. They sent the one I have now. Now it won’t do anything-sounds like it is but it’s NOT.
Is it coming out really slow when brewing? If so any if you've descaled , You may have to clean the needles, here is the link to do that th-cam.com/video/KVE4MwiXSAs/w-d-xo.html
Quick, simple and to the point how to, preciate it!
Thanks!
Thank you !!! I almost threw my coffee maker away and after doing the white vinegar all the scale came out and it’s running great again yay !!! ❤
Awesome, glad it helped!!
What if you only get a small return of vinegar from the pot and the cup side?

@@christeene8082 Thanks for the advice. I diluted the vinegar with water, 50/50. No problems afterwards.
Just came here from watching one of your kobot videos, two great videos in a matter of minutes you have a new subscriber, my friend.

I don't yet, but I'll take a look at mine and see if I can spot any areas to check and will post one on it
My add water/descale light won’t turn off. The coffee maker seems as if it’s turned off. I can’t find a power button or reset. HELP!!!!😊

After cleaning my duo with vinegar I can't get afull single serve or pot. It worked fine prior to cleaning it. Solution? Joe P.
Thank you for the video. It worked
Glad it helped!
How do you drain the water in the unit
Take off the water reservoir, power it on and hold down the 8 oz button for 5 seconds, it will then dispense water (when the machine is warmed up, takes about 30 sec) and when you hear just air coming out the Add water light will come on, at that point it is emptied of water.
My vinegar won't go through. It keeps trying to work, spits alittle out then just stops. Any clue why?
Your needles sound like they are clogged, follow the steps in this link then descale after th-cam.com/video/KVE4MwiXSAs/w-d-xo.html
Mine is also doing this from the carafe side
@@WombatCombat720 Mine was doing the same carafe side. Keep turning on and off. I had to do mine about 15 times then finally vinegar blew thru!

Will the descale light automatically come off after I do the vinegar and water solution or do I have to push something to reset it

Hello, I did a video on cleaning the needles and it shows how to take the basket out also, hope this helps.

Mines still not working. Only about 1/4 of vinegar is coming out 😢 Help
I've heard there is a hidden water supply in the keurigs that can accumulate bacteria. Does the descaling address this issue?

Is the pod being punctured properly?
Great review!!!!!!

Good looking machine

Just buy citric acid in bulk
Light wont go off and it doesn’t brew cups anymore ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Every time my hubby do this machine broke 2x
Knock on wood I've brewed several thousand cups of coffee and still working great

Press and hold down together the 8oz and 12 Oz buttons for 3 seconds, then release them. Hope this helps.
