Rest in peace in the great gantry in the sky, you gave us all some great moments described fantastically as if we were there and with passion and humour RIP TB
Love the picture smuggled in at 14:55 which had nothing to do with the title celebrations!! Doug Ellis(second from the right) certainly wasn't there!! 😂. Saunders looking younger and dear old John Robson on the extreme right...this was either celebrating promotion from the 2nd division or winning the League Cup!
Well said....the way Butler said it,you'd think Ron Saunders brought us out of the 3rd division....our Ron was a legend of course but Vic Crowe, his predecessor laid the foundations by getting us out the 3rd division....Saunders only needed 2 acquisitions when he came in(1 at the season's start) to get us into the 1st division....the extra fitness and discipline made us stronger....after that of course, pure Saunders craft to take us right to the top!
I was not yet eleven and in my last year at junior school at the time of this footage. Remember Villa's triumph managed by Ron Saunders and their famous kit then very well. Didn't Saunders cross the Second City to join Blues at St Andrews?
Me and my dad (RIP)were there. Stood right by Queen Victoria's statue
Wonderful memories..

A voice of my childhood! BRMB’s Tony Butler !! I was 10 years old in 1982 !! I remember that left foot goal if it was yesterday!! 😍
That was a year after this of course! 👍
Tony Butler was a local legend. So was Ron Saunders. The both were the best of the best at their respective jobs 👍
RIP Tony. Legend.
So glad this is still available to find 👍

Happy happy days 14 at the time just like the book based on the season and the number of players used
You are therefore three years older than me, as I was nearly eleven and in my last year at junior school!
What about The Villa, Tone? Worth remembering it was Vic Crowe who got them out of the 3rd btw.
