    Great video man, I like that you are talking your way through it! it's a way of building up confidence. I am also new and can't wait to learn and enjoy the road, however I am also looking for a quadlock and I'm also getting the Ninja 500 SE model but I'm not sure if my bike has that lip thingy but I believe you have the fork stem mount? If you can link me the model you used that would be awesome or any other advice you have!

    • @moto.nyc718
      @moto.nyc718  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yep its the stem mount w/ the dampener! Only thing is, i find that the vibration loosens the screw so i put some more thread lock to try and prevent that from happening again

  • @litdeniz3014
    @litdeniz3014 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

    the way you narrate your thoughts and plans as u think is on point bro, it's the whole world against you on that road and you always gotta be aware and just knowing that makes the difference. I've been riding for smth like 8-9 years now started on a cbr250r and i just got a ninja 500 a couple days ago cause my ass too broke ( ps: paid 13k usd for the 500 se cause everything is 2x the price where i live at :'( ) The only advice I can give you is getting used to the front brake. Only using one brake is usually seen as a bad habit cause if you just default to that in a panic moment instead of defaulting to gradual usage of both brakes it might not be enough to stop or you can also slam it too much, so research some on that learn your brakes, or how the brakes and the bike acts if you apply them in turn for example. You will be learning it all throughout the process but brakes are a really crucial part of the bike and your safety so treat em like it bro and keep up the good work man, great vid

    • @litdeniz3014
      @litdeniz3014 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I forgot to mention tho, at slow speeds/stops using only the rear brake is usually the technique that riding instructors recommend, and there's a couple reasons for that: to get new riders used to having both on the pegs while at slow speeds, if you have a heavy bike like the gs the front brakes are gonna be hard and sharp on slow speeds aswell, and it's just generally easier to use the rear brakes compared to the front at lower speeds

    I'm as green as can be on a motorcycle, but something I've been working on is starting on inclines. The best method I found so far is to hold the rear brake just enough to hold the bike steady, and then use the friction zone and throttle to get the bike moving forward before releasing the brake.

    • @moto.nyc718
      @moto.nyc718  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Most definitely!

    • @HeldIntegral
      @HeldIntegral 22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Pull the clutch and hold a little throttle, then let off the clutch a bit to get moving and then let off the rest once you're on the road and going fast enough to not stall
      When I'm stopped, I hold the clutch in between my middle and index fingers (I only hold it with one finger, using my other fingers to space the clutch's dead zone)
      If it helps it helps

    You should check the owners manual. I don’t think that you are not supposed to go past 6k rpm until you have 300 miles on the engine. It might even be a little higher. That said, I don’t think that you hurt anything. Ride safe.
