    really good job on this! one thing you may consider is relocating the shocks to be more upright to help with rear stability! coil rear vehicles can be a little tippy

    Good job! I know welding in those plates without blowing holes in the thinner metal of the jeep frame isn't easy. Really enjoyed this video!

      @@4WDAdventureCrew Paul is right, it would be tough with my skills not to blow holes in the frame, what gauge would you guess the frame steel is?

      @@Kyle-ev4fk its no more then 0.20, full of Seam sealer so welding is not fun.

    Probably still fine, but there's a bending moment on the weld in a straight line when the vehicle is supported by the spring. I'd add gussets to either side of that upper spring retainer if you can.

    Very nice work! Should perform well on the rocks once you get the last few details buttoned up. Looking forward to videos of the improved XJ in action.

    Great video!
    How has the rear end been since you did the 4 link? Has it made a big difference or do you think the leaf springs were comparable?

    • @4WDAdventureCrew
      @4WDAdventureCrew  ปีที่แล้ว

      So far it’s good I only blew one shock because I broke my bump stop on Barrett Lake trail. But I like that coils flex better and it’s rides softer, but Leafsprings are not bad, I just wanted more travel from the rear suspension

    This seems pretty dangerous to me. The rear end of the jeep is jacked up by the axel. But then his disconnecting the axel from the jeep.... Shouldn't there be jack stands supporting the rear end of the jeep by the unibody rails?

    • @4WDAdventureCrew
      @4WDAdventureCrew  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You have to watch it again, before Axle Links are welded rear axle is hooked up by Leaf Springs soon as Links are done and Leafs are removed axle is secured from moving by the links and Stands under the rails. so not sure what part you are referring to.

    Your coils arent straight because the axles aren't located properly. I have this same setup on my XJ and everything sits straight as an arrow

    • @4WDAdventureCrew
      @4WDAdventureCrew  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Axle is Located same as it was with Leaf's i just welded Coil bucket in the Wrong place and didn't angle bottom to offset the Pinion angle right.
      i know mistakes are made but of well it still rides nice
