Any evolution would have been behind the scenes. At least that's how SC//BW treated them. SC2 on the other hand does things a little different. The dream would seem to take place had Kerrigan not been half-converted back. Back when the SWARM was even nastier.

I always felt like the Terran trailer didn't give them justice, you know? I mean, all they get in their own trailer is the process of making Marines, and a few scenes of them fighting the Zerg. In the Zerg trailer, they get absolutely bodied by the swarm, without really any tactics (Seriously, what was the Viking's plan landing 100 feet away from a Ultralisk?), and in Protoss they aren't even seen. Basically the trailers show this: Protoss are better than Zerg. Zerg are better than Terran. Terran are just humans with cool armor. Now, from game-play this is quite the opposite, each faction having its strengths and weaknesses, but by watching the trailers alone, the Protoss are seen as the best of the best, being able to go toe to toe with a mass hoard that is infinitely better than humans. I don't know, I feel like it would have made sense if the Terrans were seen fighting against the Protoss and wining, making the game seem more like a rock paper scissors game (Not true, but at least it shows them being able to do something). Now, I understand that the trailers are mostly story based and everything, showing crucial moments about each faction (The creation of Tychas in the campaign, Kerrigan attacking a Dominion planet (Which looks a lot like Korhal), the Protoss retaking Aiur (The kick-start of their campaign). And that each faction video needs to show their own faction the best, but still... I feel like the Terrans get the shortest end of the stick.

Then it could show Tychus in a Marine suit, and just say "My part." Followed by the helmet visor lowering. This way, the Terrans can be shown doing what they can do best, versatility, changing machines,flying buildings, while also showing them failing, basic human nature, get pushed down, get up, dust off, and fix the mistakes, it could also show the Protoss as not this invincible force of highly advanced aliens (which they are) and show that they can indeed be stopped.
