Budapesten sok ember angolul tud, és amikor magyarul beszélek hozza gyakran angolul válaszol. Ez nagyon idegesítő mert én próbálok magyarul gyakorolni és ők zavarnak! Vidéken pedig pont fordítva van: többség nem tud idegen nyelveket, csak magyarul beszél, tehát könnyebb magyarul helyekkel beszélgetni. Emiatt szeretek magyar vidéket!

Thanks to the subtitles I can look up in the dictionary the 5-10% of the vocabulary that I don't know. Even knowing all the vocabulary I still need the subtitles to process the grammatical endings. Your channel is a perfect example of how I am learning Hungarian through "comprehensible input.". This is very difficult to do with most learning materials in Hungarian. Igyekszem minél többet beszélni magyarul, a nyilvánvaló korlátaim ellenére. A legfrusztrálóbb dolog az, amikor kérdezek valamit, vagy megpróbálok magyarázkodni, és azt hiszem, jól ejtettem ki, a magyarok angolul válaszolnak. Persze semmi komoly, mert ennél rosszabb dolgok is történhetnek. Végül is segíteni próbálnak nekem. De az a frusztráció, hogy megértetem a beszélgetőpartneremmel, hogy nem tudom jól kiejteni, az őrültek házába küld. Főleg, ha olyan témáról van szó, amit jól ismerek. Néha azt hiszem, hogy csak a következő életemben fogok tudni helyesen beszélni magyarul. De nem adom fel, a remény hal meg utoljára!🤣

De néha az ember egyszerűen csak látni akarja a megtanult és gyakorolt nyelvre fordított erőfeszítés eredményét. Én azonban nem adom fel. A magyarok még megunják, hogy angolul válaszoljanak nekem 🦾
Azért válaszolnak angolul, mert: 1. alacsony az IQ-juk és nem értik, hogy te magyarul akarsz beszélni, 2. önzőek és mivel gyengék angolból, gyakorolni akarják az angolt - szólj rájuk azonnal, hogy magyarul beszéljenek - akkor talán észhez térnek.
Még nem beszéltem magyarul magyarokkal. De 7 éve koreaiul tanulok, és amikor korea emberekkel koreaiul beszélek csak ha 'szia' mondom, korea emberek azt válaszolják, hogy 'koreaiul nagyon jól beszélsz!' 😂😂. Az a nagyon idegesítő. Mert én koreaiul nagyon jól tudok beszélni 😅 nem csak kicsit. De természetesen most magyarul nagyon nagyon kicsit beszélek.
Forgive me for not writing in Hungarian. I haven't reached that level. Yet! But I am a keen language learner and really wanted to contribute to this. These are my pet hates in no particular order. 1. Speaking to you in English without asking. As a native English speaker it's even worse. I try to be realistic about this, however. I don't expect everybody to be my unpaid conversation teacher and I know how tiring it can be to conduct a conversation with somebody whose language level is not very high. But it is annoying when you know you have just said something basic like 'two beers please' and they just reply in English. 2. People going on, and on, and on, and on - and on!! about how difficult their language is and how impossible it is for foreigners to learn it. Yes, Poles and Hungarians. I'm looking at you. Yes, your languages do have more difficulties than some others but that's not the actual reason not many foreigners learn your language. Think about it. 3. And because not many foreigners learn your language you are probably not very used to hearing it spoken with an accent so pass comments like 'oh, you speak Czech really well but I can tell by your accent that you are not a native speaker'. Can you? No shit, Sherlock! And usually they will be telling you this in a heavily accented English without seeing any irony at all. Actually, this might be the most annoying thing of all. 4. When actually teaching you, insisting on you using forms or pronunciations that are deemed 'correct' but which are artificial and sound pretentious in normal speech. This would be the equivalent of insisting on foreigners saying 'do not' or 'is not' rather than 'don't' or 'isn't'. I've heard some people teaching Polish come out with some pretty ridiculous things.
Omggg, I felt all of these so much 😂 “no shit, Sherlock” I laughed so hard at this because my nail tech told me not so long ago that I have a little accent and I was like mmm, yes, I do but like I know 😅 Everything is so true what you wrote. And I also feel like a lot of people are convinced that their English is perfect or almost perfect. For some reason they don’t care about their accent in English or they think they don’t even have one because they only speak with other foreigners using English as the common language and not to native speakers. And when it comes to any other language they seem to be worried about their accents so much as if it was a bad thing. I don’t understand 😅

But there are things that he does/says that he thinks are normal or even funny, when in fact they are incredibly annoying..!😤😅 Hopefully these beloved ones will open their eyes one day, and will correct certain behaviors.😇 ..And yes: people who repeat the same words but LOUDER always make my day....sometimes not only louder, but even ANGRIER!!😂🙈 LOL, and i'm like "dude, i'm doing my best, please don't beat me"😅☺

Sajnos én is voltam olyan helyzetben,ahol erdélyi magyarok román nyelvre váltottak,hogy ne értsem,hogy mit beszélnek rólam és a barátnőmről.Tudni kell, hogy a barátnőm volt férje és annak édesanyja (vagyis a kedves mama😊) beszélgettek románul a jelenlétemben.Nem beszélek románul egy kukkot sem, de mivel a beszélgetésben többször elhangzott a barátnőm és az én nevem is így egyértelmű volt😊.Egy darabig hallgattam de borzasztó megalázó szitu volt számomra .Így kedvesen megkértem őket,hogy beszéljenek az anyanyelvükön,de valóban rendkívül fusztráló szituáció volt.Sajnos nehezen tűröm a fusztrációt és ilyenkor a legkülönfélébb módokon reagálok,néha még magamat is meglepem.😊
Az átváltanak angolra az megesik gyakran velem is. Én amig nem tudok jól egy nyelvet keresek olyanokat gyakorolni, akik nem tudnak angolul, mert amúgy szinte elkerülhetetlen, hogy mindkettőnknek az egyszerűbb nyelvre váltsuk. Nekem ez egy ozgalmas folyamat, h eleinte pl csak az alap dolgokról tudok vkivel beszélni, aztán quantum fizikáról egy idő után (ez konkrét példa, az Indonéz történész barátom "szerencsére" nem tud angolul 😂) Az Indonézek meg a Japánok (én ezeket a nyelveket beszélem) mondjuk tapintatosabbak, és legalább nem oktatnak ki vagy nem néznek hülyének. Mondjuk ami Indonéziában van még h sokszor le akarnak húzni pénzzel a vásárlásnál, alkudni kell, és ha Indonézül csinálod, akkor kicsit kevésbé húznak le

You mentioned mansplaining. You know the real motive behind it? It's either to protect you (it doesn't matter if you think you don't need that "protection"), or to impress you. It may sound ridiculous, but that's what male psychology is like. (No mansplaining intended, by the way, lol).
Protecting from what? 😂 I understand the need to impress us but you know the funny thing is that men think a way of impressing women is to talk about themselves. In reality it’s to make women talk about themselves, ask questions and show they care and listen. That’d be impressive 😄

Igen, nagyon igaz 😄 Nem csak hangosan, hanem szótagolva is: “Nem érted? KI-KÖ-TŐ!!!” Akkor biztos fogja érteni mindenki 😂
