    Superb sir! Why is tenorial strain one half of engineering strain. Requesting a convincing answer sir!

      Shear strain is representing the angle between undeformed and deformed elements. Tensor strain represents one angle and engineering strain represents both angles.

    Thanks for the explanations,
    I have a question about boundary nonlinearity in a case of a prestressed beam inwich the cable is streteched on his both extremities and the we apply a tensile force on the tendon than we relase the tendon, the tendon should not go back to his initial position, i am trying to find the physical representation of the anchorage zone.
    your help will be truly appreciated,

      @@engineeringvision instead of modeling the prestress as force. I am trying to find a formula to represent a pretensioned tendon that try to go back to his initial pisition but blocked by an anchorage zone.
      My problem is that anchorage zone permits the tendon to be tensioned but if i release it. The anchorage block it. So i thought that maybe could represented by boundary nonlinearity formula.
