I loved Davids smile when she hit those high notes.
I wish Pia would make it bigger. So devastating she was the first early outs on American Idol during her season.
Wow! I didn't know that. She should have gone farther.
I think she was 7th out of something like a top 24 that season, so it wasn't all bad, but she really still deserved better.

When she was voted off Idol back in the day, we were all shocked and angry. Even the judges were in awe of that decision. She’s incredible!

Ngl I think I legit stopped watching American idol after that season hahaha I was so angry because she's one of the best to ever go on the show and was voted off
The same for Jessica Sanchez, who was cut and saved by the judges and finished 2nd to Phillip Phillips. If I remember correctly, the judges didn't have a save left for Pia or they would have used it.

Every time I see Pia singing that song, reminds me the injustice when she was in American Idol 10 years ago and she didn’t win. Definitely Pia is a Goddess!!!!!!

I am a studio-level casting director and I have learned so much from watching David Foster about why you never work with amateurs. He doesn’t just play the piano for any random person singing his songs. I also learned from your analysis, so thank you to the channel owner (Tara).
And why you never work with amateurs?

I remember Pia from American Idol. She's improved by leaps and bounds since then! She was always a really good singer, but her presence and delivery has grown exponentially since her Idol days. She's added some flavor to her vocals with the riffs and runs she did (I don't remember her doing that on Idol, but it's been a long time since I've heard/seen her, so I could be wrong about that). Her performance seems much more natural now, as she appeared fairly wooden on Idol. Everything about the way she sings and performs is better now!

I loved hearing your video especially when you stated about sound. I sing in my church as a praise singer and sometimes there are those who really don't understand that it's hard when you have a medical condition which has a side effect of either shortness of breath or fast breathing. I have Epilepsy Seizures and it take two prescribed medications by my neurologist. However, I teach online as an English as a Second Language Teacher where I focus on pronunciation, fluency, grammar, sounds, reading, writing, and speaking. It is hard for me to sing when the words are cut off with sounds such as if a word has the letter "g" at the end of it such as "everything". I hear many of the musicians say "everythin'". I used to have a Vocal Coach when I lived in another state, but I didn't care for her too much after she mentioned that all she ever heard me say was the "h" sound. The relation to my job and singing has to do with pronunciation, sounds, and speaking. I like how you mentioned about being able to add a letter to specific word when it comes to singing. I guess in some ways that I am probably too much of a perfectionist feeling like I have to get the word right and say it correctly.
Give Gabriel Henrique's version a shot... I promise it will challenge for your favorite version!

When playing brass horns we often have to switch between TA and DA sounds to come up with a note.
It’s just a manipulation to accomplish a certain note, tone and sounding of a word in music.
