Excellent video Allan of all these steam movements - lovely captures. Particularly nice to see 61264 and 62005 working together and lovely location for filming 'Scots Guardsman' at with that wonderfully preserved signalbox and footbridge - Hayden.
Thanks very much for watching and commenting Hayden. Haltwhistle is one of many fine stations on this stretch of line with so many nice buildings around. The signal box here is a prime example. Cheers - Allan.
Superb video Allan and you were indeed favoured with all three runs. The misty weather even added to the atmosphere and I'm so glad the signalbox and footbridge have been retained as the box in particular is a marvellous example of an Ex North Eastern box. All this finished off with a rousing run past by the Scot contributing a fine end result. Thanks for sharing it. Cheers. Ken
Thanks for your comments Ken. Appreciated as always. I thought I would take a chance with Haltwhistle and rely on my train from Newcastle being on time after my dash from York and thankfully all worked well and I had 10 minutes to spare before 46115 came through. That signal box and footbridge is so typical of this lovely line with most stations retaining some historic item(s) from days gone by. Regards - Allan.
Thanks for watching Bob. I love that signal box. Unfortunately its not in use at the moment and signalling is done from a Portacabin on the other side of the station these days. Regards - Allan.
Fantastic video of all three tours Allan. Great to see 60007 back on the mainline after a long while. Haltwhistle looks like a lovely station. Gutted that I missed the tours but at least you got great shots. Cameron
Thanks you very much for your comments Cameron. Much appreciated as always. Sorry you had to miss them. Haltwhistle is a truly fantastic station and its not a bad place to video either. Cheers - Allan.
Excellent video Allan, 3 tours in one day can't be bad, pity about the driver in the first clip making excessive use of the cylinder cocks, luckily you were on the right platform as the steam cleared, and a great shot of the Scot at Haltwhistle, thanks for sharing, it's a like, cheers...Bill
Thanks for watching and for the comments Bill. Yes a very steamy departure from Newcastle so I am pleased I chose another platform than the one it departed from. A great day for steam in the North East. Cheers - Allan.
Wonderful Captures Allan. I got Sir Nigel Gresley at York and was going to stay for Scots Guardsman but decided not to but, maybe another time. You did well to get all three Steam Railtours. Great Video. Cheers - Kyle
Thanks Trevor. I was totally relying on the train being on time to Haltwhistle and made it OK thankfully with about 10 minutes to spare. Cheers - Allan.
Excellent..I thought how smart the stock looked on Sir Nigel..when viewed at Grantham twice...Speed..! Whats the chance of 60007 being alloewed to do 90 this year..?
Thanks very much Vernon. It travelled from Leicester to Carlisle via the Settle & Carlisle Line and returned via the Tyne Valley thro' Hexham, Durham and York. Regards - Allan.
