Ahh, the climax of my favorite Epica album. Probably the most epic chorus that I've heard anywhere by any band. And this song doesn't get that much attention from reactors. I would suggest looking at 'Martyr of the Free Word' from the same album, though I don't know what versions are on TH-cam. It may be their heaviest song.

This was over 2 and a half hours into a 3 hour show, song #22 of 24 ,right after Sancta Terra. Title track to the 4th album, and part 6 of 'A New Age Dawns' (Consign to Oblivion was part 3). Mark wrote the lyrics, and co-wrote the music with Isaac and Coen. You haven't heard a bad song from them, because there isn't one. They also have great ballads, try Rivers from the last album, Omega. Several great versions, acapella at the Omega Alive virtual show, live in Chile, or live at AFAS in The Netherlands featuring Apocalyptica.
I concur 😉 Rivers at AFAS with Apocalyptica is great, I was lucky enough to be in the front row of that concert. Btw. All the other versions are great too. And Chris you are right, they don’t have any bad songs.
This rendition was from their 10th year anniversary concert which was awesome. In this concert Floor Jansen sings 2 duets with Simone ( her friend), I think you should react on both and imagine the audience listen to this kind of renditions also. O, to notice, there is a orchestra and choir as well.

By far my overall fav band are these brilliant HEAVY symphonic metal geniuses called EPICA. Their ballads are chill producing beauties too Jynger. That they Are producing just as amazing if not more so music and a Siren in Simone who just continues to only get better over time after 20 years is really truly amazing. Epica for some reason has existed WAY too long under shadow of NW for some ridiculous reason when Epica brings it more (including with orchestras and choirs in concert that NW never does), is stupefyingly crazy. Great reaction Jynger. 🤘
Like Nightwish, EPICA is a DEEP Rabbit hole, full of Epic goodness. Enjoy the heavier side of the Symphonic Metal, but know they deliver some of the most beautiful ballads as well. And the JyngerSlapz smiles seem to come out a lot for them too!
First off : Fun Hair - love it (my 3 sisters would never forgive me if I failed to compliment) Not sure what the difference is, but you look like you've had a lot of concern lifted off your shoulders... it fits you.
