Ive been trying to get better at Pyke and its brutal. I learned a lot in this video, and its basically "get faster" and a more bare bone build. Lots of emphasis on not wasting time. Feel like taking off the training wheels off a bike, any mistake makes you fall down but you get much more agressive.

Yo this video was genius. I think in most coaching videos the player doesnt have the skill to put their coaches teaching to use, but in this video the knowledge was transferred into plays like a river so it was very enrertaining to watch

Outstanding insights, tbh waste way too much time in base, and never thought to focus on quick-turn and E-W back out of base every time to keep pushing the game tempo. helps that your mechanical skills are so fast with the correct combos. I tend to mess up alternative-order combos that are anything other than W into a melQ-E. Would LOVE to see something like a mirror-set, where maybe Manco gives you input thru a Teemo support game, then he plays a match with you making the suggestions! More GOAT duos!

From what I understand, tempo is about two things: Time and value. To play “on tempo” is to be consistently doing whatever will produce the highest value in the shortest amount of time. It’s about always making the highest value choice at ever moment. This requires deeper game knowledge and critical thinking. It’s why you don’t wait to have full mana at fountain and instead you rush out to try and catch a team fight. Because getting an assist or kill will generate more value than having waited for full.The best way to not stay on tempo is to waste time and be inefficient. For a early assassin champ like Pyke, if you are not consistent in making early high value plays, you will fall of hard in the mid and late game. So tempo is extra important. Playing Pyke on tempo means never stopping and playing like you just smoked some crack.
you know you can put your settings so that you normally quick cast, but if you hold shift, you get indicator? =) It gives you the option to chose at any given moment
No way this is challenger. SOOO many mistakes left unpunished. His pyke mechanics are OK but his map rotations are completely off. Davemon had to correct him so many times.
I just want to point out that THIS... This is why I stopped buying shoulderguards (or relic) item, and buy spectral sickle ( or spell thief) because the clowns in this game either dont even know what the items do/know how they work, or simply just dont care and I STILL dont have wards 20 minutes into the match... I still have idiots pinging my items cause of it, and if you explain that you dont trust randos to let you proc minion execute sup item they say its cause youre bad...
This was so interesting and actually made me want to try pyke even though i never play him. I wonder if the same leave base with 70% mana principle applies to other supports since enchanters go oom a lot
What’s your thoughts on death dance / duskblade combo, seems to give a lot more survivability and still gives damage my normal build is umbral, dusk, DD with mobi’s
it just looked coolest, I tried to find a .png cutout of base Pyke but couldn't get it to look right. Also something about blood moon pyke made me look like the student to Davemon's teacher for some reason lol
Build fumblewinter on Pyke. Best for lost game since you can’t build health. It will save you from getting 1 shot late game and half of pyke is surviving and being a threat
In-game coaching is so difficult to both give and receive. The delay between thought-to-action is long. It would be best layered with VOD review and/or having the coach play while relaying all his own best practices and analyzing his in-game choices
