Frankly, this is one of the best performances I have found online, everyone seems to force the song, at least this performer LOOKS like she is happy, made me smile quite broadly, just watching her sing. She also sings the aria very well.
this is my favourite version! im learning this aria at the moment and your video helps me a lot. You have a lovely voice AND ,most importantly, face expression. I can tell you enjoyed singing this! BRAVA!
Thank you so very much for keeping your facial expressions happy and hopeful. So many singers sing this difficult aria with a look of panic or so lost in concentration that they lose the actual joyous nature of this piece. Brava!
Congratulations, dear Mrs. Gonen, I like your performance very much, in your expression and nice voice the listener like me can only enjoy. Handel's oratorium are my favorite. Greetings from Croatia!
Raya: You sing such a challenging song so beautifully and with such ease and grace that I am inspired to learn this song after giving up on it years ago. Thank you for such a beautiful and inspiring video. You are truly a very gifted singer. You making singing appear so effortless and beautiful. Great job.
Wow! I love how expressive you are in singing this! This is going to be the "crash and burn" part of my upcoming recital. haha...HOpefully I can sing it half as well as you have here.
I like that she sings it slowly so we can appreciate the runs - sometimes it is rushed - however she does not always seem to pronounce the words clearly eg - "Hars" instead of "Hers" is she American - slightly un pure pronounciation..
Your voice is lovely, but the diction sounds a little...not there. It might just be the audio on this particular video, so if that's the case, nice job. It is definitely slow but that's not really an issue, just different.
@QueenoftheNinjaElves Most of the letters in the english language use different placement than when you speak hebrew, its generally a little tougher of a transition.

I'm a baritone learning this aria, transposed down, of course. Do you think it always must be sung by a female voice?
What year was Raya in BBC Cardiff Singer contest?
@pedrofribeiro yeah i do see what you mean
