I love covers of Tennessee Whiskey and Jensen Ackles' cover is one of my all time favorites. So I immediately gave this a listen and I love this version. Making it darker is a genius move. Most covers stick with it country song about being saved from alcoholism through love. But this version makes it sound sexy. As if the singer was out drinking but couldn't get to the bottom of the bottle because he met some beautiful woman and had a one night stand with her, which in turn inspired the song.
