One of my favorite actors! I love your presentation. He was not only good looking, but a fine actor too. I have purchased every movie of his available, and watch them over and over. Thank you for remembering him.
Adoré esta película que vi en mi juventud, ahora que soy viejita la quiero ver de nuevo pero no la pasan completa y menos en español. Me pasa lo mismo con otras películas clásicas.
Wonderful...thank you for this video! According to his book"Sparks Fly Upwards", the studios wanted to cover up the sides of his forehead where his hair recedes, and he wouldn't allow it. It is one of the things that gives his face such character.
Watching these old movies with my Grandmother , I had a love / hate relationship with Stewart Granger. I watched him once again a couple of months ago in The Prisoner of Zenda , and fell in love with him. And he was a wonderful Swordsman. The photos you showed us were the best I've seen so far. Thank You : )
He did have great hair and there is a story where during the run of a play in London in 1949 two men actually tried to cut some locks of his hair. I don't think they were successful.
He was a man with strong likes and dislikes, and didn't hesitate to tell about them. I heard him say he didn't like Phyllis Calvert ... she was "too much the star," and therefore considered himself a very good actor, since he had to pretend to be in love with her in several movies. Barbara Rush said he couldn't be pleased. Eleanor Parker said in a radio interview that he threatened to choke her if she hurt him when she was supposed to slap him in "Scaramouche." When I've watched him I've seen a man who was very much his own person, and who said he thought women couldn't be loved enough, which was why his marriages failed. He liked being alone, and they didn't like it. He couldn't understand why, since they'd all been with him for some time before they married him, they had anything to complain about, since they married him anyway. As an actor, I loved him. I loved his voice and his looks. As a man, I'd have run like the wind away from him except as a friend. He seems to have been a very good friend, particularly when people needed help, as Vivien Leigh did in India when she began to go mental. He stayed right with her until they could get help for her and chased off all the hangers-on who were living at her place and letting her go mad before their eyes. A complex and contradictory personality.
Remember, nobody is perfect and it takes two to make a marriage work. Stewart Granger was a wonderful father to his children and remained close friends to all three of his ex wives. As a matter of fact, his first wife Elspeth March took care of him before he passed away.

He was a great actor, if he was given more parts in other movies He could of been bigger and better
Men could admire him as well in many adventurous films and in Africa as in King Solomons Mines
