Excellent tutorial! Lots of information and covered different tools.

I find it is much easier, when you have a white background to go to Layer... hit transparency... next hit add alpha channel, then go to tools, click selection tools, hit fuzzy select. Then just click on any white areas, and hit delete! that will get rid of the white background.
love your vids though, so far I've learned a lot from them, keep them coming!

Could you write the steps in a text tutorial on your site? I went and looked for this and did not see anything like this on your website. As someone trying to go along it was difficult to go along as you were going a little fast even when I paused and replayed it multiple times. This is really critical information for me and I would like to be able to master this and have the text instructions so I can verify what I am doing. Thanks for your consideration!

Wouldn't it be more efficient to just select for the white areas?

Hey Michael! informative as usual. I have a question is it normal for a 4500X5400 with 300ppi to go over a gigabyte? Redbubble requires the image to be less than 300mb but at the same time recommends to upload at 6480X7832 which I'm sure will get to 2 gigs. Am I missing something here?

Hi unfortunately yes you are missing the point This good tutorial shows you the principles of how place your own "design" on a created mockup for your own websites and social media FREE. so you dont need to export all the mockup files to Redbubble You only need to upload your " design" to Redbubble as their mockup generator does it all for you on their models.
There are other ways of doing this but usually paying for pre- layered mockup templates for Photoshop or buying dedicated software . However it would be extremely beneficial if he showed how to export the finished image which is the whole point of doing this sadly missed off the end .

Why wouldn[t you just select only the t-shirt area for the foreground? Wouldn't that be more effective?

Hi Michael.. Thank you so much for all your training and insights.. Extremely valuable.. I am not techy but i get by in using GIMP for several tasks for my POD website..
Today I bought a Mock-up Template from the Envato market and I tried to use it on one of my designs, and I got lost and frustrated... Would you be able to have a short video as a walkthrough on how can I do use it with my PNG designs? I would be delighted to donate to the GIMP team for such work.. Please let me know.. Be safe.

FYI- Most of the Mockup Templates in Envato are designed for Photoshop and use what is known as a SMART ELEMENT where you are supposed to import your design into that specific layer. The SMART ELEMENT is a feature of PHOTOSHOP and it is the feature that sculpts your design into the mockup. The problem is that this feature only works in PHOTOSHOP. So in order for your design to work in the mock up would be to basically learn to warp your design into the mockup which may be more steps than you wanted to learn. See if ENVATO will give you a refund and specifically as the seller if their mockup works with other software other than PHOTOSHOP.
