Eric, I recently started my own electronic warranty repair company & network marketing company. I am grateful, and proud of the time I have had in & around the network marketing industry! I am not ashamed to call my company a network marketing company because I know how powerful our system is! I have met some AMAZING people in my time in the industry. And I look forward to meeting many more! God bless you brother! I appreciate this channel so much!

if you are ashamed, embarrassed, or otherwise unwilling to tell potential recruits the name of the company there is obviously a problem with what you are doing.

@Lino Andrade that's the way to go.. If you tell them upfront the name of the company they will Google and probably find negative reviews from uninformed bloggers and the they won't join

Blessed Discovered o can Google ANY company and find bad things about it. I’m proud of my companies products. I’m happy to say the name. I’m happy just to just get people to buy my companies products. They do help in health and weight loss. Where is the downside I’m all this? You don’t want to be involved? Fine. It’s not for you. For many of us, it’s the best way to start a business with very little risk.

    • @blesseddiscovered6196

@@MichaelCollins-us3gf i get what you're saying..but in network marketing the way to go is to get prospects to attend the meeting or training first, then they'll know everything in the meeting. Its not about hiding the name, its about presenting an opportunity to someone that will help them in one way or another..telling a name upfront while selling a product is ok..but if its about getting them to join you got to wiser.

When someone asks you what you do, perhaps start with the why of your business. I'm in the wellness industry. I can say that I help families improve their health, income, and quality of life. And if they say how? I recommend nutritional products and services based on needs and I teach people to do the same thing and diversify their income.

This is kinda why I like my company. I can just say I’m a Life Insurance Agent. Because I have my license through the state and sell insurance for 42 insurance companies. I used to be with a company that didn’t represent more than one company for each of their products and it was kind of hard to label it. It’s important to quickly tell people what you do because if the confidence isn’t there you can lose the client in the beginning.

I love network marketing. I am in one. People have a problem with not network marketing but with hard fucking work and will find all the excuses and bullshit in the world not to do it. People who embrace it, look at the huge upside potential - which is to be filthy rich.
Those people who don't want to put in the hard work to become rich, they are better off working for someone.

In the rest of the world, i.e. outside of our profession, there is a major difference between the terms "selling" and "marketing." They are not the same nor should they be confused. This is perhaps why people get confused.

I agree with you Sean! One of the very first things that i learned when i ventured into Direct Sales was that the word SELL triggers a negative reaction in the minds of nearly everyone that you will try to engage. Because i believed that was true, i came to understand the importance of replacing the word SELL with the word MOVE. Me personally, i gladly choose to "Market" products and goods "Creatively" as opposed to simply "Selling" them.

Actually, recruiting is optional. It's encouraged because that is how you can make more money. But if you want to just go out and sell the product all by yourself, knock yourself out. But keep in mind that is that for you to sell the product, you had to be recruited!

There are many ways to look at it. But the truth is, there are so many people that have been able to create great lives for themselves, by helping others improve their own lives as well. The way I see it is, we are looking for people who genuinely want better lives and are willing to help others to do so. For example, the first quality I look for in a person that I want to share the opportunity with is, are they kind?

    • @stevecarter1673

the fact of MLM is that it only describes part of the Compensation plan. It does not describe the business itself. If we all just stick with using Network Marketing it is less confusing, even some leaders don't like the label NM. The labels carry with them negative connotations.

I think the point is for the people in the industry to understand that MLM is a pay structure. We all know there are also levels and downlines and uplines, but some leaders in the industry don't even like the term "network marketing" because of the negative connotation it carries in the minds of people. Many see MLM as a scam. They hear network marketing they think MLM . Just my two cents.

So whether you call it MLM, Direct Sales or whatever fits your bill, it just gives a fantastic opportunity to middle class American to become financially free. Now all of these above presents also a weakness, because this kind of people are "easy quitters" too.

He totally contradicted himself. This isn't direct sales, direct sales is the manufacturer selling directly to the consumer. We're in the middle! That's not direct!!!! ... Twenty seconds later...direct sales is only a PART of what we do.
He's a snake trying to legitimize a business model that is, by definition, exploitative and unsustainable.
"We don't need to compare ourselves to other billion dollar companies" my @$$. He's terrified someone will compare it to a we known MLM (*cough*pyramid scheme*cough*) and his cover will be blown.

    Hi Eric! Huge fan here.
I'm currently developing a business in Network Marketing and I was wondering if there is a place where we can get some real statistics about network marketing?
Thanks in advance and hope I can get a answer from you.

    • @rikkwakeupwesternworld9874

Daniel Rodreigues Look under any rock in any pond and you will find examples of the pond life who promote MLM. Eric is there too. The ''statistics'..............97-99% failure rate, 100% in many cases and the damming reports about the Network Marketing industry and the parasites who promote it keep coming. MLM the make believe industry...classy!

    • @Yespls888
      @Yespls888 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@rikkwakeupwesternworld9874 Well even insurance has a, I think like 90% failure rate. Most agents quit in their first year. But it's also a trillion dollar industry and produces more millionaires and high six figure earners than almost any other industry.
I could go on and on with "failure rates" vs industry. Typically the tougher the industry, whether mentally, physically, or competion wise will have high rates of failure.
Not saying your logic is flawed but it's one sided and doesn't consider that fact that most people fail in business in their first year to three years...regardless of industry. We are literally raised to be workers from the time we're school children, so the transition for most people is rough.
The ones who keep moving forward, despite it being rough. Learn to pivot and grow, learn from their mistakes...hell create an entirely new business or adopt an existing model, will typically succeed over time.
That's true regardless of the entrepreneurial industry...including Network Marketing. Now if someone expects it to be easy or to succeed with a few tricks, they're setting themselves up for failure. And would probably have disappointing results regardless of whether it was Network Marketing or "traditional" entrepreneurship/business.

@@Yespls888 C H The point is the con artists who thrive in this pretend industry come and go. The problem is when they leave your money goes with them. Failure rates abound in any business, unfortunately this one attracts the foolish and the slow witted who cannot resist the dollar signs its promoters flaunt under their noses. These parasites exclaim.. "this is taking over the world" or "its a once in a lifetime opportunity" they prey on anyone who believes their mindless rhetoric, usually people who can least afford it. I have seen this vile industry cause bitter divide in families and literally destroy relationships and the example of pond life above is firmly attached to all of it!

Its a hard one for us as in the UK we are governed by the DSA or Direct Selling Association so we just explain it how it is. Word of mouth advertising....

The issue is some of the distributors,, the companies have no control of what they do or say, they break FTC guidelines and try to promote people into a scheme where 99 percent of people fail.

Eric (& Colleagues) - why not "micro-franchising" as a way to describe it? At least people understand a franchising model. With NM, we are similar to a franchising model, without the onerous bricks & mortar, employee responsibilities, high entry costs, etc...

  • @deliadee7009

Nope nope nope .... too many concepts at play. The attempt to box them into a one size fits all is still a complex issue. There is no one description because different companies use different distribution channels!!! We can say Network Marketing using word of mouth advertising. Yes we can say that on the surface. I agree with that one sentence.
