Conan's run - Demo Test

  • In this Demo test you will see the evolution of a Conan the barbarian drawing. It is a black and white sketch done in in adobe Photoshop.
    I always enjoy drawing Conan the barbarian since it is my favorite character ever. But I must confess that I am not totally happy with this sketch; I should have stopped half way through.
    I realize right now that I killed it’s spontaneity by adding unnecessary rendering and lighting details…
    Anyway it is here for your own consideration. Can you tell from the timelapse video where should I have stopped?

    This is a fascinating watch. It kind of makes me want to switch from traditional illustration and "go digital". But I'm a sucker for the old school and love having a sketchbook too much.

      Nothing prevents you from doing both. a lot of artists combine the traditional and digital, but you are right nothing beats traditional media.

      merci. ja pprecie ton encouragement. si frazetta avait photoshop cela aurait ete magique, quoique je pense qu'il preferait travailler en peinture traditionnelle.

      @@bekkouriarts1634 Il utiliserai les deux je pense , comme il aimait la photo ...pour composer ses images il aurait gagné un temps fou , mais peut être et surement c'est mieux ainsi ...

      @@didpen c est vrai. j aime bien la peinture numerique, c'est bien pratique mais honetement le dessin traditionelle a un charm et un impact bien plus interessant, les textures la luminosite, la spontaneite jusqu'ici n'est pas replique par le digital, qui sait peut etre dans un avenir proch ces era possible...

      @@bekkouriarts1634 je suis complètement d'accord avec toi , je suis peintre et formateur Photoshop ...je me sert des deux , mais la peinture à une touche sans équivalent ...Oui pour l'instant ...
