@JumboDS64: Here his the reason why they did not, they wanted to avoid repeating music, because if you compare this 8 bit version with the 8bit version of Bowser in Super Mario bros.3 it his the same with just diffrent combination of instrument, the same thing in All-stars version for the SNES Super mario bros. Bowser boss music, and Super Mario bros.3 Bowser music except 16 bit music but both version are the same theme. they used diffrent instrument and percussion because it his a different game. The original Super mario bros. in 8 bit as no boss battle music, but Super mario bros.3 as 3 different boss battle music. Hammer bros battle music, Boom Boom boss battle music, and Bowser battle music. In Super mario Maker for Boss battle music they can only used one per game style. They had to pick the best known.
Aside the faint reverb that I applied to the final version this should be very close to how it would sound if it was in Super Mario Bros. 1. I created the instruments myself by ripping samples from the correct beeps and noises in SMB1.
I recall in Super Mario All-Stars, there were 2 themes that would play. This is the theme that plays for the Bowser confrontation for worlds 1 through 7, but the final Bowser world 8 confrontation had a different theme.
It would've been cool if they did something like that for the Mario 1 section instead of being lazy and use the Hammer Bros theme from Mario 3. I guess Nintendo just doesn't really care for All Stars as much. Aside the Wii port being re-released as part of Nintendo Selects.
I kinda feel like the team responsible for Maker were all younger and didn’t grow up with the classic. That’s why they added a lot of “fluff” instead of keeping things original. Like you said adding all stars music in 8-bit form. Also classic things like short bullet bill cannons, spinys that can’t be flipped over, faster enemies, walking hammer bros, bowser hammers, green parakoopas that’s float back and forth, and lost levels elements. Also they severely stripped down my beloved smb3 badly.
I agree. Even when the music from Super Mario Maker was made by Koji Kondo himself, he did a lazy job by recycling some of them from SMB3, which ruins the atmosfere of SMB1 and Legend of Zelda, where only duty 2 was used and no DPCM.
I heard that nintendo is making a new update for Mario maker 2 so i bet this song, SMAS theme and other themes and stuff should have been in the Super Mario Maker 3. That would be awesome!

They should’ve gone with a Different SMB3 Boss Theme for the Bowser Icon in SMM2’s SMB Style, considering how different music is used for the Bowser Jr. Icon.
Yeah it seems that smm/smm2 was just rushed. That’s why instead of keeping each style unique they just randomly picked a few enemies from each game and made versions across all 4. Very disappointed. All the new age kids that never played the classics don’t really know and probably don’t really care what is lacking. Just that it’s a Minecraft Mario game. 🤪🤪🤪
Yeah, SMAS has it's own unique bonus and boss music, so I have no idea why they didn't just remix for SMB in SUper Mario Maker... :(
