    Oh my God!! oh I just did a thorough clean out of my house and I took all my stamps that I’ve had for years and put them out on my porch to give away. I am bringing them back in LOL.
    Another great video my new friend! I know what I’m making my friends for Christmas! Going outside right now to rescue my stamps

    I love IOD products. You can use the clear sheet that comes with them to stamp all letters at one time. This is a great tutorial! Love the idea of dying the fabric with ASCP

  • @IAMGiftbearer

    So glad I came across this video! I was looking for an ink that would be best to hold up in the wash on fabric because I am planning on printing with a stamp on these little muslin bags and this looks like it would work great! I did block printing years ago, so I might still have my brayer.

      I love this idea, have fun stamping your little muslin bags! I ordered my brayer on Amazon along with the ink, hopefully you still have yours. Thanks for watching.

    Does speed ball ink for fabric keep the fabric soft and flexible or stiffens the fabric?

      Mine stayed soft and flexible. Has held up great in the wash over the years!

      My only suggestion would bet to test some different inks on small scrap fabric to see how it holds up. The ink I use in this video holds up to the washing machine and dryer. I hope that helps.

    Hi Deanna! Can we use chalk paint instead of the ink?

    • @DIYDEANNA
      @DIYDEANNA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can! In my experience the ink stays more vivid when washed, Chalk Paint softens to more of a "vintage" look which I like too! Thanks for watching.

      Hello!
      I left a link in the video description box to Amazon where I purchased the Ink. You might try looking on Speedball's website for stores. I used Speedball Fabric Block Printing Ink. Here's the link to amazon: www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00C1JUJWW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    QUESTION: Does this speedball wash off the stamps easily? I use IOD stamps with their ink and chalk paint and it washes off easily but I would love to try it with the Speedball ink since I feel it will last longer on fabric. Thank you.

    • @DIYDEANNA
      @DIYDEANNA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! The speedball block printing ink is what they call a "water washable oil". You don't need solvents to clean up like a traditional oil paint I just used dish soap, water and a dish scrub brush. I did have to scrub a little more in the tiny pieces of the stamps but wasn't too much work. It will be more work than cleaning up chalk paint but if you are wanting a long lasting ink on fabric I think this is probably the way to go. Thanks for watching!

    Hi Deanna,
    Can you tell us how you cleaned the ink off the letters, please?

    • @DIYDEANNA
      @DIYDEANNA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! This ink cleans up with warm water and soap. I used dish soap and it worked just fine. The ink got stuck in some of the finer details on the stamp so I used an old tooth brush to scrub it out. Thanks for watching!

    I wonder if there's enough work time to do a gradient with the ink. Say stamp flower petals and then paintbrush another color into the edges pulling it into the first color. Maybe a thicker coat on the stamp?

    • @DIYDEANNA
      @DIYDEANNA  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have done a gradient before but I usually just do that right on the stamp before I stamp it. I usually spread a couple of colours of ink on my brayer but I haven’t tried using a brush before. If you give it a try let me know how it goes!

    • @mala3isity
      @mala3isity 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DIYDEANNA Doing it on the stamp makes much more sense. :) I live vicariously through you artists so I'll have to wait and see if any of you do it.

    What is the difference between the screen printing ink and the fabric ink?

    • @DIYDEANNA
      @DIYDEANNA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question, I'm not 100% sure but I think the fabric screen printing ink may be a bit "smoother" than the block printing ink so it goes through the screen more fluid. You could maybe use the screen printing ink for stamping but I'd guess the block printing ink would be to sticky to use on a screen. Thanks for watching.

  • @micheledickey4066
