I would love to hear what all you have in your read-aloud bin to keep little hands busy, especially for your son that “loves working with his hands” as I have one of those too! Love Natures Workshop Plus! I was actually a vendor at TTD this year and their booth was just down the row from me and it was so tempting to just scoot over there and buy all the things! I think my kids spent most of their convention allowances at Nature Workshop Plus lol. 😆

Completely unrelated to homeschool but you mentioned that you live in Tennessee and your family loves camping. Have any of your family members ever been bitten by the lone star tick? We are from Wisconsin so they definitely aren't common in our state but I had a bite yesterday and am concerned about that alpha gal syndrome.

As far as I know, the only ticks we’ve ever had an issue with is what is called brown dog ticks. Thankfully we’ve only had a few run-ins with ticks.
