Nah she can't devil's can't sense those lol, through she may have a little bit of "danger instinct" but in a nutshell since we are in a perspective of denji, in the world of chainsaw man EVERYONE knows makima. She's a world wide threat
Denji is so surprised when Power obeys Makima in an instant. Of course a behaviour that is so uncharacteristic to her. But he is completely unaware that he acts the same way when Makima talks to him.
Yeah but for Denji, blindly obeying authority figures is completely unsurprising and in character. That's exactly why the Yakuza loved using him after all. What's surprising about Power's behavior is how unlike her it is, not the fact that she's obedient by itself. So it's honestly kind of a weird thing to point out.
*manga spoilers (i think)* Isn't the reason for this the fact that Makima is controlling power (with her control ability) but can't do the same with Denji? And that's why Denji gets surprised when Power immediately obeys her.
@sirultor648 Makima could always control Power (she only controlled and altered some of her memories to think that she was "saved" when Power first met Makima. But otherwise, Makima allows her to be herself, but then she controls her again later on, bcs she didn't need Power to be herself anymore.) Anyway, the point is that Makima is using fear to control Power (doesn't need to use her powers here). Btw, Denji doesn't know about Makima contracts, and abilities, so the reason why he was surprised when he saw Power act like that, was because she wasn't as chaotic and lying when talking to Makima (It was out of character for Power to act so calm. That's why Denji was surprised.)
